Dish n Dash Restaurant/Manager

Oct 2014- current

Participated in creating staffing model, planning work-flow, hiring & training new employees for a newly remodeled & operated Middle Eastern restaurant.

Duties include managing the daily operation of the restaurant, reconciling & following up on invoices from the different vendors, placing orders in a timely manner for the different suppliers & placing and following up on catering orders from customers making sure that the orders are processed correctly ensuring customer satisfaction.

Familiar with scheduling in ALOHA restaurant system.

Over the past few months was able to maintain labor coast down and increase sales of the restaurant by more than twenty percent; therefore increasing the profit margin.

Phlebotomy/Processing Supervisor –

Sept 2004-May 2014 Mills-Peninsula Hospital

Participated in planning, developing and implementing the phlebotomy move from an old facility to a new one by creating an efficient plan for the phlebotomy department in May of 2011.

Successfully supervised & trained 25 phlebotomist and 5 Lab assistants in performance of their duties while maintaining their licenses up to date.

Prepared schedule for 24/7 phlebotomy coverage for inpatient, outpatient, emergency department and four satellite locations.

Performed annual competencies and evaluations for the entire phlebotomy & processing staff.

Participated in CAP preparation and inspection for the Lab over the past 10 years and achieved minimal deficiencies. This included updating and writing new policies and procedures as changes occur in the department.

Participated in many hospital committees and collaborated with the nursing staff to improve efficiency and quality of patient care.

Participated in many process improvement projects including stroke alert protocol, turnaround time for timed draws & improved New Born Screening recall rate.

Managed the processing department including receiving samples from the inpatient and outpatient draws into LIS, verifying and checking patient proper identification on each sample, distributing samples once ready for the different departments for processing and testing, preparing, aliquoting & packaging samples for send outs to the many different reference labs local and out of state. Duties also included entering results into two computer systems once received from the performing facility & sending out results to appropriate physicians and clinicians as indicated on patient’s charts. . Responsibilities also included ordering supplies for the department making sure that the PAR level is always maintained & expiration date is always checked.

Performed equipment maintenance & documentation according to laboratory standards operations and procedures. Assisted CLS in any projects and in training new employees. Duties also included creating sample batches, printing labels, prepare aliquot for testing loading analyzer, calibrating and running QC on instrument. Archived samples and store for future or additional testing. Maintained a neat working environment in the laboratory work areas. Maintain adequate level of supplies at all times. Ran parallel studies when necessary on different types of samples. Trouble shoot any instrument issues or problems. Call service when necessary.
