STUDENT RESEARCH/FIELD EXPERIENCE: 2015: CARREs (Communicate, Assist, Recognize, and Report Events) Modules to help develop health care tips on the Web for caregivers to access. The modules were developed to help the layperson help care for patients at home and prevent unnecessary emergency department visits and re-hospitalizations.

CREATIVE AND SCHOLARLY ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Co-owner of Dragon Tow Trucking Company from 2003 until 2010.
Developed a set of protocols between the Home Health Department and the Wound Care Clinic for wound care which was appropriate first-line treatment for different types of wounds and cost-effective for the home health care agency at Fisher-Titus Medical Center (2010-2011).
Development of realistic, cost-effective wound care protocols for Stein Hospice Services, 2009.
As Clinical Supervisor, worked through the Home Health Care Department with Case Management Department and the Skilled/Rehab Care Departments at Fisher-Titus Medical Center on the Ohio Hospital Initiative to develop interventional programs to recognize high-risk patients for unnecessary rehospitalization, (2010-2012).
Helped to develop a program at Firelands Regional Medical Center through the Home Health Department to recognize patients who may benefit from Home Health Services. This program was designed to help keep patients out of the hospital as well as grow the Home Health Department. Met and exceeded all goals prior to the goal dates as well as contributed to the growth of the department. Within one year, the department went from losing $275,000.00 per year to grossing $2,500.000.00 in a year. The program is still active and thriving at Firelands Regional Medical Center.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Post-graduate certification in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing through Metro State University, Minneapolis, MN, 2010 thru 2012. Current CWOCN expires 1/31/2017.
