COMPUTER SKILLS
Microsoft Office, MS Project Manager, AutoCAD, Solid Works (some training) Daniel Van Artsdalen – *********@*******.*** – 856-***-**** EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Holtec International, Marlton, NJ February 2015 – December 2015 Senior Project Engineer
Provided project engineering for the design, procurement, and fabrication of a Gas Dehydration System to dry spent nuclear fuel rods. The system incorporated forced hot gas, vapor condensing, and vacuum drying. All work was performed in accordance with ASME and NRC regulations. Completed technical reviews of equipment and operation for automated handling systems for spent fuel rods as they are prepared for permanent storage. Veolia Water, Biothane Technology, Pennsauken, NJ August 2007 – November 2014 Project Manager
Provided Project Management for design build projects for waste water treatment plants. Projects were heavy industrial, valued up to $30M. Systems included anaerobic treatment, cross flow membranes, and anaerobic-caustic gas scrubbers, CIP systems, and chemical injection systems. Biogas handling and utilization systems were part of the designs. Tank designs to about 1M gal capacity. My project responsibilities were from cradle to grave. Duties include; assisting sales in developing budgets, designing, supervision of engineers and designers, developing scopes of work, develop specs for vendor supplied services and equipment, review vendor proposals and negotiate contracts, maintain schedule and budget, control project spending and revenue receipts, identify risks, manage construction, manage start-up, and project closure. I also worked as a Site Construction Manager for extended periods. I am instrumental in commissioning, developing check-out lists, and facilitation of efforts. GGB, NA, Thorofare, NJ February 2001 – August 2007 Project Engineer, Maintenance Engineer
GGB/Garlock Bearings, is a manufacture of metal backed self-lubricating and filament wound bearings. The major processes for manufacturing include; metal forming machinery, metal pressing, sintering processes, impregnation processes, grinding machinery, and filament winding machines. As Project Engineer I was responsible for designing machinery, tool and die design, and projects associated with the facility infrastructure.
Specific project responsibilities at GGB included; o Installation of 800 Hz induction heater for sintering process o Installation automated parts washing and automated parts handling system o Management of major equipment rebuilds
o Tool and die design for metal forming and punching o Designing pick and place automation, inline inspection systems, and automated packaging systems
Daniel Van Artsdalen – *********@*******.*** – 856-***-**** As Maintenance Engineer I worked within the maintenance group providing supervision, and technical support. Led the TPM process, adherence of 5S structure, planning and coordination of preventative and corrective maintenance issues. Participated in; lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and Kaizen. Hoeganaes Corp., Cinnaminson, NJ July 1990 – January 2001 Project Engineer / Maintenance Supervisor
Hoeganaes was a steel plant, manufacturing steel and iron powders. The processes include; an electric arc furnace, molten steel atomizing, slurry handling, dewatering and drying, water filtration and recovery, induction and annealing furnaces, cooling systems and heat recovery, bulk powder and material handling equipment, dust collection, and, automated product classification equipment. Initially I worked as a Project Engineer, designing machinery, structures for material handling, and processes. Some specific projects included;
o Hydrogen and nitrogen gas mixing system for furnace atmosphere control o Redesign the cooling system for 6 annealing furnaces to improve cooling efficiency o Installation of 9 million btuh annealing furnace. Design of the combustion system (26 burners), instrumentation and controls, and material handling systems. o Installation of a 1,200 gpm dewatering/filtration system. o Design of an automated powder blending process, and packaging system. o Acetone delivery and recovery system for polymer particle coating facility. o 44,000 cfm dust collection system which included 120 pick-up points and approximately 2 miles of piping.
For 2 years I was a Maintenance Supervisor for the melting and heat treating facility. I was responsible for technical direction and administration duties directing daily activities of the staff. Responsibilities also included management of contract services including; construction, installation, testing and maintenance of equipment.
