Automation Systems Engineer, EW921A Air Compressors 1 & 2, ENI, GOM – Scope includes designing and upgrading the compressor PLC and adding new safety devices into new package. Responsibilities included creation of Wonderware control screens using the InTouch software, writing new logic using RS Logix 5000, assisting I&E techs rewiring the panel, and testing the finished product to work in conjunction with the customer’s offshore equipment.

Automation Systems Engineer, WD89 Touch Screens, ENI, GOM – Scope includes upgrading legacy Factory Talk archive file to new version, ordering replacement touchscreen, and loading file onto new and secondary existing touch screen. Responsibilities using virtual machines to upgrade legacy application and testing the finished product to work in conjunction with the customer’s offshore equipment.

MCC room PC upgrade, ENI, GOM – Scope includes ordering, loading software, and installing new computers to replace older technology that was becoming unusable. Scope also included installation of Wonderware Historian to local server on platform and integrating new computers to network with server. Responsibilities included alteration of Wonderware screens for dual displays using the InTouch software, loading of software onto workstations and local server, and testing the finished product to work in conjunction with the customer’s offshore equipment.

Engineer II, EI252I Compressor 1 & 2 Remvue, Chevron, GOM – Scope includes upgrading the compressor PLC, adding new safety devices, and incorporating the Compressor Remvue software together in one package. Both compressors followed this same convention. Responsibilities included creation of Wonderware control screens using the InTouch software, and testing the finished product to work in conjunction with the customer’s offshore equipment.

Engineer II, EI275K Electrical Power Upgrade, Chevron, GOM – Scope includes upgrading the current ESS system from pneumatic to electrical. A new PLC, safety devices, touch screens, and HMI software have been added. Responsibilities included the creation of Wonderware control screens using the InTouch software, and testing the finished product to work in conjunction with the customer’s offshore equipment.

Engineer II, EI252I Flow Measurement, Chevron, GOM – Scope includes replacing seven flow computers on an offshore structure with newer models from a different manufacturer. Responsibilities include firstly with loading the modbus bridge and flow computers with both a proper communication configuration and modbus tables together. Then secondly programming the HMI to display the information and provide controls to the flow computers using Wonderware’s InTouch software, and testing the finished product to work in conjunction with the customer’s offshore equipment.

Engineer II, VR245E Safety System Function Check, Chevron, GOM – Scope includes validating the control system of an existing, functional, offshore structure. Responsibilities include imitating the control system in the office. This is done through loading physical equipment with the programs used offshore and causing faults in the control system to see if the program reacts correctly. The results of the testing are documented for the customer.

Engineer I, Y-Bar Custody Transfer Station, Talisman Energy, USA, near Three Rivers, in McMullen County, Texas – Project design was done in Houston with extra assistance brought in from the offshore office. Project scope involved helping bring the station online and making any final changes to the programming. Responsibilities include authentication of points, making changes to the OIT program, and assisting the crews to expedite the project.

UPI – work prior to above listed items include creating HMI screens, OIT touch screen panels, PLC programming and offshore experience. (Allen Bradley, Wonderware, GE Fanuc, FasTrak for Modicon, Siemens, QuickDesigner, Telepace)
