Professional Experience

Crownhill Packaging Ltd, Brampton, ON 2011 – Present

One of the largest independent providers of packaging in Canada. Providing customers with the ability to have access to packaging that is suited to their exact needs, when, where and in what quantities they require. Services include co-packing, stock and ship, and fabrication.

Production Supervisor (2011 – Present)

Manages production area with over 30 Crownhill and agency staff in accordance with established health and safety policies and guidelines. Ensuring targets and quality expectations are met. Also performing minor maintenance and technical duties.

Schedule staffing daily according to the changing job requirements or workload.

Implemented 2 pieces of automated packaging machinery, from installation, testing, SOPs, training of the staff to creating new targets.

Increased targets and saved on labour by both implementing new machinery and creatively using and distributing the staff across departments.

Co-Chair of the Health and Safety committee (2011 – Present)

To bring the safety standards up to date. Create and maintain a consistent HSC.

Started the committee from scratch. Caught up to all deficiencies.

Handled 2 Ministry of Labour inspections and corrected all deficiencies as ordered by the MOL.

Production Supervisor (2008 – Present)

Manages production area with over 30 unionized staff in accordance with established health and safety policies and guidelines to ensure targets are met.

Made sure all linens are provided on a timely manner to shipping.

Increased previous target from 52000kg linen sorted per shift to 54000kg linen sorted per shift while reducing 1 FTE. This was done by balancing work load between sorting lines and creative, efficient use of linen from customers

Increased target again to accommodate new business volume to now 57886kg per shift but has consistently sorted over target to 59000kg average with company record of sorting 62000kg +

Technical & Process Lead (2007 – 2008)

Complete projects to improve production efficiency and increase scalability by introducing mechanical automation. Provide technical consultation to the production department in the areas of logistical transport, and production coordination. Back up Supervisor.

Met tight timelines of clinical trials by solving logistical transport issues and supporting the transport team daily.

Balanced work load and prioritized resources for the production team as needed to complete orders on time in lieu of new supervisor.

Implemented and validated three mechanical enhancements and improved production efficiency by 30%. This included sourcing of vendors/machines, installation/performance qualifications, safety procedures, operation SOPs, process alignment, and staff training.

Participated in a clean up project for the sample storage department, accounting for over 300,000 samples. This project improved the training of the sample storage team and the organization of sample storage area.

Supervised three transport associates and over 20 production staff members to ensure on time delivery of products in a JIT environment. Acted as liaison to vendors and couriers such as Crown Hill Packaging, Nunc, FedEx and Marken Ltd.

Maintained on time production and delivery when newly created supply chain group cut inventory in half and implemented a new inventory management system, without providing training and only two days notice. This was achieved by reducing production time from five days to three to provide a buffer in case of inventory problems.

Ran the department over a four month period without delays or problems during the absence of the department manager.

Ensured on time shipments by investigating and resolving transport issues daily by rerouting, generating customs documents, full filled dangerous goods transport requirements, etc.

Supported the bidding process for clinical trials by providing pricing for trial budgeting, by coordinating with couriers on routing, temperature requirements, turn around time, etc

Acted as Technical Consultant for the creation of a new global production/tracking system called Apollo. Ensuring production department needs were met.

Developed a method for generating metrics on transportation and production to meet customer reporting requirements.
