B Welder/Fitter.
11/2015 to current.
All projects are TCPL, 100% x-ray. All stick welding. Mostly 8010-8018, some 6010-7018. Very high standards on visual and x-ray quality. Lots of position welds but usually roll welding. Spend some days just fitting to help out, I enjoy both tasks but find a better challenge in the welding aspect.

Worked all year on TCPL (Otter Lake) (Woodenhouse) (Liesmer). Majority of procedures called for 8010G root, 8018 fill and cap. Pipe sizes on this job ranged from 2" to 42". I'm responsible mainly for the position welds. Successful qualifiers are few and far in between and most employees only qualified to roll. Some position STT root on small bore. Roll welds are 8010G, 6010 and STT root with either 8018 or 7018 fill and cap. I have had very good success, somewhere around 1.5% repair rate.

mass pipe welding production 2”-36” various sch, mostly 6010 root 7018 fill& cap, some mig root 7018 fill & cap. Qualified on in house test for Trans Canada (1 of 4 out of the whole shop) very strict WPS all 8010 root 8018 fill & cap with a third party inspector watching over welding procedure, pre heat, interpass, post heat and 3/32 max cap and root pen. No tolerance. I welded several 36”, 16” & 12” posi and roll joints about 50 welds on that job, came back with only one repair. All welds were 100% x-ray and hydro under the sour gas code. Also welded lots of lap rings that were ultrasonically tested, no fails. Lots of fluxcore and metalcore structural welds as well.
