Experience
I have over 30 years of data processing experience, particularly in the areas of mainframe production control and tech support using various job scheduling systems. During those 30 years my responsibilities have been:
Interfacing with the application development groups to implement new and changed jobs in the production cycle. This included setting up the automated job schedule
Approving production packages containing JCL and/or PROC changes using ENDEVOR
Interfacing with the computer operations group to ensure that the online systems were started and/or shutdown on time for the timely running of the production batch job schedule.
Maintaining the production schedule by setting up job schedules utilizing triggers, dependencies using CA7, ZEKE and Tivoli Workload Scheduler
Initiating and monitoring schedules for production batch processes through the use of Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) and CA11 on zos platform.
Performing technical support duties by fixing JCL errors, using overrides for load libraries changing disk volumes in out of space conditions, etc., and restarting the jobs using CA11 or TWS
Developing, testing, and implementing new or revised scheduking applications as required by Application Development groups.
Analyzing scheduling flows to diagnose and recommend resolution for performance bottlenecks or processing efficiency improvements
Participating in Change Control functions for applications through the use of ENDEVOR, Service Desk, and JCLCHECK
Working with Technical Support staff on the installation, support, and customization of TWS and CA11 to improve performance and provide increased functionality
Working on projects as assigned by management. These projects will include planning from inception to implementation as it relates to the Scheduling Services group.
Developing and maintaining scheduling standard operating procedures as required
Participating as a lead analyst, working closely with Scheduling Specialists in daily operational activities in request processing, problem determination and resolution
Performing Tape Librarian Duties such as preparing scratch tapes using TMSCLEAN (CA1) and setting up procedures for storing off-site tapes
Providing user assistance on help desks
