On first page “We conclude that the instruction provided was of high quality when aligned to studies with comparable methodologies. In addition we thought Mr. Madigan's caliber of instruction was evidenced by his knowledge of the goaltending position, his communication skills and clear reasoning behind his instructional behaviors. He demands the attitudinal prerequisites of desire, determination, and dedication. He has a very athlete centered (high questioning and feedback) approach in developing their technical skills within the goaltenders style."

Conclusion His profile fits very well within the Cote et al (1995) coaching model and is consistent with that of the conceptual model of an expert coach. This is supported by the congruity of the behaviors exhibited and those of winning and successful coaches reported in the Claxton & Lacy (1996)."
