I am responsible for the North Region sales territory consisting of a 2.3 million dollar annual revenue budget. I also proactively identify, negotiate and close new sales opportunities that fall beneath the $50,000 annual revenue threshold as well as develop and maintain existing relationships to secure contract renewal. I am responsible to meet established performance expectations for territory growth, new sales, account growth, new opportunities created and business retention as well as respond to requests for quotations from General Contractors and manage submittals for projects. This involved working closely with operations and technical services teams to prepare bid proposal documentation

Territory Manager/Outside Sales-General Sales, Waste Management, Sterling, VA 2010-2014

Reporting to the area sales Manager responsible for generating new business and the retention of a current $200,000 monthly book of business for waste removal in the Northern Virginia marketplace. Achieved Emerald Circle status in 2013. Changed roles successfully 4 times during my employment.

Eastern Division Manager, Newsweek Magazine, New York, NY-1996-2009

Reporting to the Director of Retail Sales, my primary function was to impact newsstand sales of the domestic edition of Newsweek Magazine and all brand extension products published at Newsweek Inc. This was achieved in two broad areas, creating new or improved displays with national chain retailers and managing an efficient and effective distribution of product through our national billing agents, marketing companies and various North American magazine and book wholesalers.

•As Eastern Division Manager responsible for over $20,000,000 in annual revenue through 2009, successfully sold cross merchandising and advertising programs at national chain retailers that capitalized on the advertising dollars spent and resulted in product sales for Newsweek and the advertiser and retailer. Successful programs were sold to Wal-Mart, Ahold, Paradies, Hudson News and HMS Host and Wegmans.

•Negotiated all retail display locations for Newsweek Magazine on all front end merchandisers which were manufactured for regional and national retailers throughout my division. Built and enhanced core relationships with major airport and chain accounts booking and managing promotions for Newsweek and Newsweek Special issue publications at Wal-Mart, Ahold, Paradies, Hudson News and Wegmans ensuring compliance and program integrity in order to achieve maximum sales levels and profitability for Newsweek. Secured an upgraded display position in HMS Host which enabled Newsweek to gain over $300,000 in additional revenue. I developed a point of display program for Borders Books which resulted in an annual $1,296,000 in revenue gained for the bookstore chain and resulted in $153,000 in additional annual revenue for Newsweek.

•Expanded and managed a pre-release delivery to retail delivery of Newsweek to 13 retail locations at major North American airports increasing the sale by 30 to 50% at each location.

Divisional Newsstand Circulation Manager, Petersen Publishing, Los Angeles, CA -1993-1996

Reporting to the Vice President of Retail Sales I was responsible for the strategic planning and management of sales, marketing and distribution programs for Petersen Publishing newsstand publications for the Mid-Atlantic territory. Managed relationships, increased distribution and retail sales with departmental purchasing agents at key accounts including Giant Foods, Safeway-Eastern Division, Ukrop’s, Acme, Kroger-Mid Atlantic and Southland Corporation which increased the sales revenue for both the wholesale distribution community, the retail community as well as for Petersen Publishing.

•Launched the company’s wholesale discount program and planned, coordinated and managed all promotional programs within the assigned wholesale and retail community

Marketing Manager, Curtis Circulation Company, Hackensack, NJ -1991-1993

Sold and marketed major newsstand publications to retail chain and independent accounts throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region. Independently managed the entire sales and account management process from the initial presentation of client titles to negotiation of retail display space, placement of promotional floor stand promotional displays and the development of checkout/front end displays for client publications. Planned, presented and coordinated various onsite special events and guest appearances all of which resulted in increased sales revenue

District Sales Manager, Globe Communications, Boca Raton, FLA-1988-1991

Managed the sale and distribution of the Globe Communication newsstand publications to wholesalers, large regional chain retailers and independent proprietors in the state of Maryland.

• Met with representatives of existing and prospective accounts to introduce new products, evaluate in-store displays, merchandising management and new display development. Reviewed and evaluated previous sales histories to determine the optimal inventory volume for each newsstand product produced by Globe Communications within the retail and wholesale community
