Qualifications: 13 years of experience in electronics manufacturing and training including:

Entrepreneur as Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) for J-STD001 with Space Addendum, also have experience teaching ESD and component identification courses

6 years teaching experience approx. 3000 hours classroom experience, teaching both, J-STD001, and Space Addendum courses in the Aerospace industry.

Solder, rework, and inspection experience for Class 1, 2, and 3 electronics IAW several IPC specifications including Space Addendum and NASA standard NASA 8739.1

Rework Capabilities include: Extensive experience with the use of desoldering irons for rework of through-hole technology, extensive experience with both major and minor rework techniques, pad and trace repair for through-hole barrel and surface mount pads, QFP, BGA, SOIC removal and replacement with hot air machines and by hand. Proficient with both destructive and non destructive techniques for rework.

Previously certified as operator and inspector for NASA 8739.1 Polymerics at L-3 Cincinnati Electronics.

Extensive CCA prototyping experience.

Familiar with surface mount lines such as Fuji, and pick and place machines manual or automated including operation and maintenance.

Proficient with multiple IPC standards including IPC-A-610, IPC-WHMA-A-620 and IPC 7711/7721.

Proficient understanding of reflow profiles for wave and surface mount reflow systems.

Experience with bed of nails tester and other manual test methods.

Troubleshooting experience and knowledge of reading schematics.

Solder Trainer (non-IPC) Grass roots solder training so to speak. It was a program that was somewhat of a boot camp for employees that would solder at Spectra Tech.

Experience leading groups as large as 25 employees through all stages of manufacturing processes, including work flow and production through-put, resource allocation

Extensive experience writing /developing processes that are used in manufacturing, basically taking an assembly and documenting the proper sequence, and most efficient manufacturing processes from start to finish and then implementing into the build.

I began as a Hand Assembly Tech, which included duties on slide lines, casing and packaging final units, staging product for sale to customer, working adhesive stations and ovens. Daily duties included: operating PCB wash systems, Conformal Coating assemblies. Hand soldering became my primary focus. Duties included hand building mixed technology PCB’s. Minor and major rework using Hot Air stations for QFP, BGA rework. I became the Soldering crew trainer and Production Coordinator for the last 4 years there. My Duties for the Solder Trainer included, mentoring, training and development of employee skills, and talent assignment. I developed a sophisticated solder training program for our crew which had 3 stages according to skill level. This helped me into the Production Coordinator role where I would manage all aspects of mass production and scheduling.

Duties included all manufacturing processes for all work. This was a very small company that had one employee besides the owner. I was the manufacturing crew, which included everything from hand building many mixed technology assemblies, and all inspection processes. Also acted as Process Engineer.

Technical Trainer/ Part-Time Quality Technician: Duties included visual inspection of products built to requirements of NASA 8739.1, JSTD001 Class 3 and Space Addendum on ATK program. Interface with customers for interpretation of J-STD001E and J-STD001ES. I played a role in developing new employees and welcoming them to the L-3 organization through our solder training program and new hire orientations. Scheduling, materials procurement, and maintenance of IPC JSTD001 Training program was my primary focus, along with mentorship of new employees, while working on the production floor.
