SENIOR MANAGEMENT

Resourceful, innovative professional with over 20 years experience in Operations and Engineering within a broad range of industries and products. Expertise in initiating projects and programs that boost productivity and quality while identifying new avenues of business for the company. A Hands-on Manager with proven skills in analysis, design, conceptualization, development, coordination, troubleshooting and improvement of operations through policies that promote a team-based work atmosphere, creative thinking, superior customer service and a positive effect on the corporate bottom line.

SELECTED RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Managed all aspects of a company including development of business and marketing plans, recruitment, hiring and training of staff, budgeting, P&L, scheduling work and activities, establishing policies and procedures, procurement, performance evaluation and motivation of employees.

Increased quality of Knuckle Boom Loaders through thorough review of all loader components, supporting structures and systems. Made a design change in the support structure that yielded a 37% increase in loader strength with no additional manufacturing cost.

Boosted sales both reorganizing the company sales function. Identified needed skills as well as sales team member strengths and weaknesses. Reassigned sales territories and put in place new performance incentives that increased sales.

Increased sales revenue through creation of an off-line manual powder coating system for short runs. Specialized unique color runs requested by key customers could now be completed with no break in the standard product production schedule.

Improved product quality by researching best practices to find an anti-oxidation solution to blemishes on metal. Installed a new anti-oxidation dip prior to forging that left the surfaces of shovels clean and ready of painting.

Decreased downtime and increased productivity through initiation of a new Preventative Maintenance Program. All machinery could now be brought up to operational maintenance specification with no effect on normal production times.

Enhanced morale through promotion of a team-based work atmosphere. Provided assignments of increased responsibility along with opportunities for additional training and performance incentives to encourage a sense of ownership in the overall operation.

Expanded the department’s ability to run multiple engineering projects over 3 shifts by recruiting recent college grads and displaying a GANTT chart to assign work for each shift. Projects over all shifts were completed on schedule, with the GANTT chart becoming a permanent fixture.

Increased sales revenue and retained a key customer by devising a way to bind a decorative edge onto washcloths. Brainstormed with engineering staff, researched best practices and installed a new system that brought this product to reality. The methodology used in this new line opened a new product market for the company.

Decreased waste through implementation of new nesting software that allowed for very exacting cuts on the oxy-acetylene burn table. The software calculated and directed the cutting head how best to cut pieces from one larger piece of material with minimal waste.

Boosted revenue to the company by taking on Fruit of the Loom’s request to automate manufacture of sweatpants. Assembled a process team to develop a methodology using current machinery with add-ons. Successful completion of this project increased productivity 200%.
