Duties and Responsibilities

As a QA/QC –NDT Level III (Sr. NDT Coordinator)

Presently working for Dodsal & Company (UAE) with SAUDI ARAMCO as our client. This is a 56” Dia. Cross Country Pipeline where my major responsibilities are to monitor product & process quality and taking preventive & corrective actions and to represent QC Manager in the NDT and other status review and coordination meetings.

Ensure Database is established to maintain and obtain the required Inspection and Test status reports of all NDT activities for Pipeline and Piping.

Ensure the Updating of the database on daily basis.

Obtain the status reports and initiate necessary actions.

Review the NDT procedures submitted by the Sub-contractor / vendor.

Attend daily Coordination Meeting, to provide the status of NDT clearance and obtain information about the Testing Planning and Construction status.

Organize to prepare status of the Welding & NDT activities of the Pipeline & Piping under priority and compilation of necessary documentation and Records.

Review the NDT results before submitting to TPIA /Client.

Review and Maintain the NDT equipment calibrations.

Submit and obtain approval from the customer

Provide release for the Coating department for further activity.

Analyze the type & frequency of repairs and inform Welding Engineer/ QC Manager.

To participate in the meeting to find out the root cause of the repairs & preventive action.

Coordinate with the welding engineer, QC Supervisor/ QC Manager for the daily NDT Offering to the sub-contractor.

Coordinate with the sub-contractor for establishing the Procedure Qualification & Technician Qualifications.

Ensure the Sub-contractor technicians are following the approved procedures for the testing.

Coordinate with the Sub-contractor for the NDT results.

Verify & review the NDT Results before offering to TPIA/Client.

Coordinate with the welding engineer / inspector for the repair/rework.

Coordinate with respective sub-contractor / QC Engineers for getting the necessary inspection / test reports.

Prepare the NDT test reports for final documentation (Quality Dossier).

Maintain the record for the Procedure & Technician Qualifications.

Obtain Client / TPIA approval for the NDT results.

Prepare the status of Repair/ Reshot / Retakes of the weld joint.

As a QA/QC - Lead NDT Level III & Welding Inspector (Petrochemical Plant)

Worked with Fernas Construction Company India Ltd. as Lead NDT Engineer Level-III (NDT) and Welding Inspector. Looking after all NDT and quality control related issues on 24 Nos of Spherical Vessels, 37 Nos. of Storage Tanks and Piping works (UG & AG). This was a prestigious project of (ONGC Petro Additions Ltd., OPAL) of ONGC and GAIL.

Oversee and conduct NDE inspections using the proper methods and techniques as provided by the company and/or customer.

Carried out audits to verify the availability of NDT procedures and NDT facility at site with contractors.

Involved in the Welding & NDT activities involved during fabrication of Storage Tanks as per API 620 and API 650 (Cone Roof, Internal floating roof, External floating roof, Dome roof tanks).

Looking after the NDT inspections involved in Site fabricated vessels(Spheres) and Piping.

Marking Radiography as per API 620 and API 650 to carry out Radiograpy Inspection.

Radiographic film interpretation of Joints for storage tanks.

Conducting Ultrasonic Testing on the spots which are found doubtful with Radiographic Interpretation.

Review, collect, record, and evaluate NDT inspection data according to defined acceptance criteria in order to determine the usability of client’s products.

Surveillance/control of NDT materials to be used.

Check and monitor the site NDT activities in accordance to project quality plan and specification.

Work with lead quality Inspectors to address project NDT Inspection requirements.

Review and evaluate contractor’s NDT records and inspection reports.

As a QA/QC – NDT Level III & Welding Inspector(Pipeline)

Successfully completed one pipeline project for Fernas Construction Company Ltd. with Gas Authority of India Ltd. (GAIL) as our client. This was a 48” Dia. Cross Country Pipeline performing various activities including witnessing AUT and other conventional NDT involved in laying pipeline.

Developed NDT procedures in conjunction with the requirements of international codes and Client specification.

Responsible to organize and construction of all facilities required to conduct various NDT methods; monitor the progress of NDT and repair activities.

Responsible to effectively communicate the NDT status, general welding performance and the NDT subcontractor's performance.

Schedules inspection and test on a daily basis coordinating "hold point" witnessing by third party.

Report all non-conformances to the Quality Manager.

Coordination with responsible personnel in resolution of NCR’s.

Checks NDT reports and established welding repair requirements.

Ensure contractors NDT compliance with company’s mandatory documents.

Interpret and improve technical requirements for company and contractors by reviewing Standards and Procedures.

Review, approve and train Project and contractor Quality personnel such as trainee engineers, NDE personnel’s.

Qualification of procedure for Radiography and Magnetic Particle Testing.

Inspection of materials (Positive Material Identification) consumable and non consumable and ensuring material traceability.

Identifying and Marking joints for NDE.

Interpretation and Evaluation of Non Destructive Examination and Testing (Visual Testing, DPT, RT, TOFD and Phased Array).

Provide Quality Assurance and Control mechanism as well as improve safety, reliability and integrity by proactive surveillance and Inspection.
