Efficiently operate of Electric Arc Furnace (EAF), Ladle Refining Furnace (LRF) and record all process proceedings, whilst making corrective action to deviations

Plan Production to suite customer requirements (whilst meeting targets)

Monitor scrap bay receipts/offloading and advised scrap sorting

Manpower Development and Control

Enforce good safety and housekeeping practices and standards

Process Metallurgical Technician (Senior level) :

Technical meetings and standing in to advise process adjustments and optimization

Technical report writing, research and development

Brain-storm on issues of energy and consumable loss and utilization to ensure cost-reduction whilst increasing productivity and plant efficiency

Report any plant breakdowns and also monitor/advise in course of repair work to realize quick plant recovery

Smelting Plant Shift Supervisor : Assisting and reporting to Plant Manager, duties were

To operate induction furnace efficiently and meet production targets

Monitor a vast iron ore beneficiation setup and advise on material selection

Formulate process development projects/trials and analyze performance and productivity benefits for beneficiation plant and post plant refining setups

Raise non-conformance reports regarding any process deviations from devised standard practice

Account for any process losses, breakdowns and wastages

Acting Chief Metallurgical Technician (in tandem with Plant Metallurgist) duties were :

Developed/reviewed laboratory and plant work/inspection procedures in accordance with ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 Lab and Quality Management Systems

Carried out inspection and failure analyses investigatory work at external Nickel mines, Gold processing mines on an external consultancy basis

Prepared training schedules for subordinates and ensured the training was done

Analyzed product test reports and records before certification and distribution

Safety coordination in liaison with SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality) departments, hence raised reports on SHEQ concerns
