Mechanical Designer (Permanent) on Various Projects:

Riser and Blowout Preventer (BOP) Designer: Investigated problem submitted by clients. Redesigned components, then detailed them for manufacture. Equipment and components designed: subsea BOP stacks, Jack-up stacks, marine risers, valves, bracketing and misc. oil related equipment, large welded assemblies.

Software Platform: Pro-Engineer CREO 2 and AutoCad ver 2014.

AKER SOLUTIONS - Houston, TX Aug 2008 to Dec 2008

Piping Designer (contract) on HMS and Ponchartrain Projects:

Plant layout design/Piping Designer: Job responsibilities include performing piping design, brackets, and plant layout design. Designing of piping systems required knowledge of valves, fittings, pumps, pipe racks, miscellaneous industrial equipment. Plant layout included knowledge of structural steel, platforming, handrails and stairs. Design from initial concept to producing engineering drawings, ISO’s and P&ID’s.

Software Platform: PDMS 3D plant layout design software and Microstation ver 8.

Boiler design: Job responsibilities include piping design, structural supports for boilers, brackets, and plant layout design. Design from initial concept to producing engineering drawings, ISO’s and P&ID’s. Work completed on Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and PDMS 3D plant layout design software.

Design of brackets and tubes for Pratt and Whitney engines: PW4000, PW6000 and PW JT9D. Job responsibilities included investigating problem’s submitted by the client, completing a design study resulting in an improved design.

Design was then implemented using NX2.

Designer (contract)

Participated on proprietary programs with secret clearance. Designed Sheet metal, castings, forgings and machine parts. Initial component conceptual design, researched and applied design modifications resulting in completed final design. Final design analyzed and drafted. Conducted trade studies and presentations of proposed concepts.

Work designed, modeled and drafted on NX2 and TeamCenter.

Design of brackets and tubes for Pratt and Whitney engines: F100-229,220,100, F119. Job responsibilities included investigating problem’s submitted by the client, completing a design study resulting in an improved final design. The design was then implemented using Ugii 18 and Patran for the various stress analyses.

System integration for Australian 737 Wedgetail Radar program. Wiring harnesses, electrical and wiring routing schematics, secondary structures, sheet metal components, brackets and sensors, tolerance stack-ups. Job entailed modeling the fuselage of Boeing 737 aircraft in detail, determining the proper positioning of electronic systems and various sensors, designing brackets to hold them, determining the best routing path for wiring and then designing wiring harnesses to complete the design.

B.F. GOODRICH CORP. - Vergennes, VT Apr 2001 to Jun 2001

Designer (contract)

Sensory packages for various helicopter manufacturers. Wiring harnesses, electric and wiring routing schematics, secondary structures, structures, sheet metal components, brackets and sensors, tolerance stack-ups. Job entailed modeling the fuselage and structure of Sikorsky, Augusta and Bell helicopter aircraft in detail, determining the proper positioning of various sensors, designing brackets to hold them, determining the best routing path for wiring and then designing wiring harnesses to complete the design.

Knowledge of aircraft structures, sheet metal, brackets and bushings Job entailed modeling the fuselage and structure of Boeing and Airbus aircraft in detail, then designing complex aircraft seats to fit within the constraints of the individual airlines. Tolerance stack-ups.
