Current Project- Advanced Manufacturing Material Forming – Shape deformation of a High Tensile Steel. Fall 2015

Perform Uni-axial and Bi-axial testing on a piece of metal specimen with 2D & 3D Digital Image Correlation using Matlab Solver and also study the microstructure before and after the analysis using a 3D Laser Microscope. Material Used – DP980.

Size and Topology optimization of a Bicycle frame using Hyper-mesh- Inspire 2015 Spring 2015

Perform Different kinds of optimization like Size optimization, Topology optimization, Shape optimization and Topography optimization to come up with the better design, less weight without compromising the performance of the bike. Analysis was done using Hypermesh2012 (Optistruct). The CAD design after Analysis was processed using Unigraphics Nx 10.

Shape optimization of a bracket using Inspire- Company (American Axles Manufacturing Corp.) Spring 2015

Perform Shape optimization on a clamping bracket Using Inspiron 2015 and the after analysis CAD was developed Using Unigraphics Nx 10. A better shape was created with the same amount of stress and displacement but with reduced material.

Fracture mechanics Crack Analysis using CAE (Hyper-mesh &Abacus) Win 2015

Crack analysis was performed using Hypersmesh2012 and Abacus 6.14 the material properties were studied and the results were compared.

Product Development, Tool Design & Manufacturing:

Responsible for Tool design & Checking fixture design of door Sash Assembly and Outer Panel for OEMs according to the requirement of customers. Analyze the components to ensure manufacturing feasibility.

Create PowerPoint presentations for manufacturing feasibility check, time line manufacturing and other technical issues, presenting in meeting with OEM for better outcome of the project.

Design and develop new Engineering Prototype, product testing and evaluation.

Conduct virtual studies, assessments at program sync points and as needed throughout development process to ensure an efficient manufactural design.

Managed various phases of Design and Manufacturing of products, components, parts, assemblies and subassemblies, including drafting, dimensioning, tolerance, prototyping and documenting results.

Design Press Tools and checking fixtures for components like Front & Rear Fender, Steering Bracket and other parts of BIW.

Monitor Trial Run, Quality inspect, Inspect CMM (Probe Testing and Laser Testing), Prepare inspection Report, Fine tuning of stamping tool.

Follow up with the vendors and assist them if they have any doubts in drawings or tolerance.

Provide Manufacturing guidelines and instructions of checking fixtures in-house as well as to the vendors if the job is being outsourced.

Meetings with customer &clients to demo the model/design created, and work closely to accommodate any changes during the process.

Installing the tools at stamping units of OEM, trial run and finalizing the tool calibration and tolerance as requested by the OEM’s.

Material Management, creating Bill of materials, material inbound & outbound monitoring etc.

Checking and correcting the drawings of components of a machine before it is delivered for manufacturing.

Testing using statistical tools (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) to troubleshoot and resolve problems.

Involved in providing optimum design at minimum cost in order to be competitive in the market.

Reworking or old tools, Updating tools to current production techniques and improvising the design, altering the tool according to the change and requirements of OEM.
