Job Related Training:

HAVE COMPLETED ALL THE REQUIREMENTS PLUS MORE THAT THE MILITARY AND DENTAL FIELD NEEDS TO BE KNOWLEDGEABLE OF ANY AND EVERY SECTION. THEY WERE COMPLETED THROUGHOUT MY MILITARY CAREER WITHIN THE 10 YEARS THAT I WAS IN. SOME OF THE TRAINING IN WHICH I HAVE COMPLETED IN THE YEAR FOR 2008 AND HAVE CERTIFICATES FOR WERE HAPC, INFO ASSURANCE, CBRNE, CTIP, LAW OF ARMED CONFLICT, OPSEC, HIPPA, AGE SPECIFIC, NOTAM- TIME OUT PROCEDURES (IMPLANTS AND SURGERIES), DOD PT. SAFETY ALERT AND TRICHLOROACETIC ACID SOLUTION MIX-UPS AND MEDICAL GASES, JCAHO SENTINEL EVENT-USING MEDICATION RECONCILIATION TO PREVENT ERRORS AND TUBING MISCONNECT IONS, NOTAM- REGULATED MEDICATED WASTE, HIPPA SECURITY TRAINING, SAFEGUARDING PERSONALLY IDENTIFYING INFORMATION, OUTPATIENT RECORDS, AND ETC. I ALSO HAVE MY BLS CARD WHICH IS NOT DUE UNTIL 2011.

DURING ACTIVE DUTY, ALL MEDICAL PERSONNEL MUST GO EVERY 15 MONTHS THREW "CAMP SURVIVAL" IN OTHER WORDS MURT (Medical Readiness Training), WHERE WE ARE TAUGHT TO SURVIVE AS IF WE WERE IN THE FIELD IN WAR LIKE SITUATION, AND SOMETIMES SPENDING NIGHTS IN CAMPS OR TENTS BUILT BY US. WE LEARN THE PROPER WAY TO USE A COMPASS AND MAPS IN LAND NAVIGATION, PROPER FIRST AIDE, FIELD EXERCISES TO PROTECT OURSELVES WITH AND WITHOUT OUR WEAPONS, WEARING CHEM SUITS AND HELMETS, GOING THREW GAS CHAMBERS, AND BASICALLY BEING TO THE TEST. WE AS MEDICAL PROVIDERS/ASSISTANTS ARE REQUIRED TO BE ABLE TO GIVE HELP WHEN AND WHERE EVER NEEDED.

VOLUNTEERED WITH SEVERAL ORGANIZATION BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER MY MILITARY CAREER. I HAVE WANTED TO WORK WITH THE PEACE CORPS OR RED CROSS OVERSEAS (PREFERABLY) IN BANGKOK, THAILAND FOR QUITE SOMETIME NOW, ESPECIALLY SINCE I KNOW THE CULTURE, PEOPLE, A BIT OF THE LANGUAGE, AND HAVE FAMILY THROUGHOUT THAILAND AS WELL! WHEN I DO GO AND VISIT, I LOVE VISITING WITH THE ELDERLY AS THEY ARE SO VERY SWEET AND JUST WANT SOMEONE TO SIT WITH AND TALK TO (EVEN THOUGH SOMETIMES I'M NOT SURE WHAT THEY MAY BE SAYING!). I ALSO ENJOY ASSISTING WITH THE YOUNGER CHILDREN AS I HELP THEM WITH THEIR ENGLISH AND SCHOOL WORK. THAILAND IS REQUIRED TO LEARN ENGLISH AND HELPING THEM IS A LOT OF FUN. I ALSO TAKE A FEW OF THE CHILDREN IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD THAT I KNOW AND OBVIOUSLY CAN NOT AFFORD TO THE TOY STORES AS WELL AS THE CANDY STORES TO GET SOMETHING SPECIAL... TO SEE THEIR EYES LIGHT UP WITH SURPRISE MAKES MY HEART JUST MELT. WHAT MAKES ME FEEL SO GOOD IS THAT THEY ARE SO VERY HOSPITABLE AND WILL DENY THE TREATS AND TOYS AND TELL ME NO THANK YOU OR THAT WHAT I WANT TO GIVE THEM IS TOO EXPENSIVE UNTIL I HAVE TO FORCE THEM TO TAKE IT! THESE ARE GREAT CHILDREN THAT DESERVE SO MUCH BETTER. I'M NOT A RICH PERSON, BUT IT'S OBVIOUS THAT AMERICANS HAVE IT SO MUCH BETTER THEN MOST COUNTRIES, BECAUSE LIKE MANY COUNTRIES IN THAILAND YOU ARE EITHER VERY POOR OR VERY RICH, THERE IS NO IN-BETWEEN. PLUS I'D RATHER SPEND MY MONEY AND TIME GIVING TO THOSE THAT WORK HARD THEN THOSE THAT WOULD RATHER NOT DO ANYTHING FOR A BUCK.

Additional Information:

I enjoy volunteering and doing humanitarian work as it makes a difference in people's lives. It brings me a great deal of happiness seeing smiles on children's and everyone's faces when they see us coming into their community, town, or even into their villages. The returns of gratitude is like no other.. Volunteering is probably the most rewarding thing a person can ever do for not only themselves but for those in need. I have volunteered/assisted several times at my daughter's schools, both here in San Antonio, Texas and in Hawaii. Involved with daughter's interest in various sports, assisting the coach, as well as nephew's Tae Kwan Do. Have personally been involved in sports my whole life, playing in school as well as a few base teams in various sports.

Physical fitness is important to me and I understand and know I am able to help those who may be in need of some sort of mentoring, or just a little advice on passing their PT test! I have been through the PT process many times and am knowledgeable of what goes on and needed during testing time.

I am a fast and honest worker who works very well with others. I am not offend by orders given to me and I always do the best work I possibly can. Most of all I always put in 110% of my time on my work which I think is extremely important. I have worked with people my whole life and consider myself a real "people person". During my 10 1/2 years career in the United States Air Force and GS period, I have cared for many patients and any personnel as if I would want someone to have taken care of me if needed. Medical, educational, managerial, food and beverage, and the several other career fields I have worked are and can be extremely difficult, yet I positively know I am very capable and wise enough to handle those and any type of challenges brought forth my way.
