EXPERIENCE:

June 2015 through Nov. 2015; Aerotek Staffing Agency – Materials Manager assigned to Truck Works Inc. Phoenix, AZ; Responsible for the Purchasing, Inventory Planning & Control, Production Planning, Warehousing, Distribution, Transportation, and Shipping & Receiving functions for a small manufacturing company caught up in a turnaround situation. My assignment, though temporary, was to draft policies and procedures, and provide the technical assistance, necessary to modernize and improve the Materials and Production functions.

Mar. 2015 – closed Outsource Management business and moved to Arizona to be with family.

Mar. 2008 – Feb. 2015; Owner; Outsource Management Inc, West Des Moines, IA; OMI provided consulting services for small businesses in the areas of Operations and Supply Chain management. ie., purchasing, production planning, inventory planning & control, master scheduling, transportation, and warehouse/distribution management, as well as labor/contract negotiations, financial statement analysis/benchmarking/forecasting, cost-benefit analysis, and Project Management, including Continuous Improvement. *Went out of business and moved to AZ.

Feb. 2004 – Mar. 2008; Materials Manager; Emerson Process Management, Marshalltown, IA; ($25 billion dollar conglomerate) Led Purchasing, Master Scheduling, Inventory Planning & Control, and Sales and Operations Planning (SOP) for a $110 million line of control valves. Responsible for sourcing suppliers, developing and implementing strategic procurement plans, annual budget/spend, achieving inventory goals for Raw Materials, WIP, and Finished Goods, and the Master Production Schedule. (Product line was moved to Toluca Mexico. I declined to relocate.)

- Developed a cost tracking model to time purchases for Hi-Nickel alloys and Copper to take advantage of volatile market fluctuations on the London Metal Exchange (LME). Savings - $83K.

- Led CI projects (including Kaizen invents) that reduced through-put times and queues in manufacturing, which lowered on-hand raw materials and WIP by $230K.

July 1995 – Feb. 2004; Owner; Sun Logistics Inc., West Des Moines, I; SLI provided express delivery of parts to Agricultural and Automotive distributors. As the owner I negotiated all customer contracts and purchase agreements. I also managed daily operations of the Distribution Center and fleet; all regulatory issues; and had full P&L responsibility.

Dec. 1992 – July 1995; Manager of Contract Packaging; Alberto Culver Inc., Melrose Park, IL; ($2 billion personal care/food manufacturer) Responsible for sourcing, qualifying, and managing all Contract Packagers/Distributors, as well as drafting and negotiating vendor contracts. Total annual volume - 100 million units of Personal Care, Household, Food, and OTC Pharmaceutical products.

- In October 1993 the Production Planning and Inventory Control areas were added to my scope of responsibility.

- Developed and implemented a matrix analytical system for awarding multi-million dollar contracts.
