ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Socket Programming

Created a program to initiate communication between two clients and a server.

Used C programming in a UNIX environment.

Implementing a basic MPEG Video Codec

Used Exhaustive search algorithm for Motion Estimation.

Used Matlab programming.

Simulation of components of a BPSK modem receiver in MATLAB

Delivered BPSK modulator samples through the channel, then introduced frequency offset and time offset and delivered the channel distorted, time offset, and spinning sequence to the frequency locked loop. This output is fed to the timing recovery loop which in turn is presented to the equalizer and phase-locked loop.

Simulation of an OFDM Modem in MATLAB

Implemented an OFDM Modem and a shaped SC-OFDM Modem whose modulator is implemented by a 128 point output IFFT.

Used short preamble to detect the start of the OFDM packet and frequency offset resolution.

Used long preamble to estimate the channel.

Steganography in unison with cyclic encoding and decoding

Developed a peer-to-peer application for secret message sharing.

To encode the data to be hidden, a class of cyclic codes known as BCH codes are used. Comparison of rate between Huffman and Arithmetic coding

Compared Huffman and Arithmetic coding, two of the many lossless data compression algorithms.

A text document is compressed using Huffman and arithmetic coding techniques to analyze which rate lies close to the Entropy of the source data. Simulation of Frequency Hopping spread spectrum in MATLAB

A new technique is proposed to enhance the security of the FHSS transmission system by applying an improvised PN-sequence as the spreading sequence.

The transmitter of the proposed FHSS technique is simulated in MATLAB using BPSK modulation scheme to modulate the binary data.

Design of test rig software for RINGS16, Research Centre Imarat (RCI), India.

RINGS is an acronym for Ring laser gyro based Inertial Navigation System.

The project aims to develop the necessary software required for the RINGS hardware test rig operation, which is responsible for reading data from the RINGS in real time and displaying it in the user readable format.

This was the guidance system used in intercontinental ballistic missile, Agni-V. Swathi Kiran Katta
