Qualifications

* ***** ** ********** ********** Design/Drafting and Analysis working experience in Structural Engineering.

Excellent researcher with adequate hands-on experience in Structural Engineering.

Outstanding written skills and fluent verbal communication in English and Chinese.

Good teammate and also can work with minimum supervising.

Already holding H1-B visa. Available immediately.

Education

Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA

Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics (May 2013) GPA: 3.61/4.0

Dalian University of Technology (DLUT), Dalian, P.R. China

Bachelor of Science in Department of Engineering Mechanics (July 2011) GPA: 3.20/4.0

Work Experience

Designer/Structural Engineer, DMAR Engineering Inc., Houston, TX (09/2013~present)

Conducted more than two hundred drawings with CAD software for hull general arrangements, hull primary structure, hull outfitting/appurtenances, marine systems, electrical/instrumentation, while ensuring both the quality and efficiency.

Generated and filed more than twenty structural analysis for offshore platform hull outfitting/appurtenances, fabrication and global performance, including padeye, platform lifting and six-leg semi-submersible platform global analysis, etc. All approved by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) with accuracy.

Attended meetings with department manager, vendors and clients to discuss the hull structure design and Fabrication.

Supervised two new structural engineers on the structural analysis and Project procedures.

Internship, Designer/Structural Engineer, Sinopec Petroleum Engineering Design Co., Ltd, Offshore Engineering Design Institute (07/2010~09/2010, 07/2009~09/2009)

Applied the static structural analysis for jacket with SACS, with consideration of the nonlinear effect soil. Participated in the project structural calculation book writing.

Got familiar with the duty of a designer and the project procedure. Used three methods of load application on conical section to analyze the strength of the jacket under the influence of ice.

Performed analysis for part of the topside, including the padeye, winch foundation, sheave foundation and hatches, etc.

Modified the structural design of jacket and performed the analysis of jacket self-vibration and dynamic analysis under earthquake condition.

Research Experience

Graduate Project, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Lehigh University

Application Optimization of Vehicle Hood lifting Assisting System (2013)

Independently Developed MATLAB programs to simulate the Vehicle Hood Lifting Assisting System, aiming to reduce the lift force.

Optimized the system with Annealing Method with the consideration of both structure modification and cost of manufacturing.

Research Assistant, Department of Engineering Mechanics, DLUT

Floating Liquefied Natural Gas Project (National Specific Project) (2010~2011)

Built up the experiment platform including the 6 DOF sloshing actuator and the assembling of all the sensors embedded to the FLNG tank model.

Executed the Tank sloshing experiments by adjusting different variables, including water level, sloshing frequency, amplitude and direction and liquid density.

Collected and processed data from the experiment, and ran numerical simulation using Fluent and MATLAB for result comparison.

Presented in weekly group meetings about the experiment and simulation results.

Undergraduate Thesis: The FLNG Tank Sloshing Force Comparison between Experimental and Computational Result.

Laboratory Experiment on Ice Load and Installation Validity Check of Anti-Ice Structure and Conical Structure on Offshore Platform (2010)

Modified structure with the numerical simulation and analyzed the data collected from the offshore platform.

Proposed a new structure design to reduce the risk of a structure failure due to the fatigue caused by ice load.

Force Analysis of Steel Frame and Truss Structure (2009)

Developed original MATLAB Program and ANSYS Model for analysis of a local truss bridge.
