I was the key contact for the customers to prioritize, schedule, conduct and review results of the trials. Co-Led the initiative to reduce the facility operating budget by 50% over 7-years. This ensured the existence of the facility for years to come. Developed a computer based Scheduling Calendar to manage the high level of scheduling changes needed on a daily basis utilizing the Silverlight systems. Facilitate annual Objective & Goal setting meetings to identify Strategies and Initiatives and develop Measures to track against monthly to ensure the Goals are being accomplished.

We then utilized that same process to eliminate waste in our systems and processes we use to manage the facility infrastructure. This resulted in more efficient use of time and personnel. A lot of times the systems or processes were eliminated which is the goal of SMED.

Created a LEAN Culture by training the facility Team Leaders in the LEAN Philosophies and assisted them in their implementation of problem solving sessions (Learn-by-Doing) (A3’s,, Simple Problem Solving, Visual Management and 5S’s) all with the goal of eliminating the 8-WASTES ! Key accomplishments include facility water savings initiative resulting in water usage reduction of 50% that totaled $330K annual cost savings. Led a 2-day Lean session at our Beech Island facility that reduced the overall project time to install a new dryer on our wet wipes line from 27-days down to 18-days install time. Both mill personnel and outside contractors participated in the event. Many other Safety concerns and issues were solved on a daily basis using the Lean - SPS (Simple Problem Solving) process.

Logistics Team Leader – Manage the Facility Shipping/Receiving & Outside Storage Warehousing Inventories. Reduced outside warehousing cost by 1M per year by sourcing a low cost warehouse and leasing a truck to do our own transporting of skidded materials back and forth to the warehouse. Reduced headcount by 50% in the process as well. Identify recycling vendors and ensure waste streams are really being recycled and that minimal waste goes to the Landfill. The goal is always to be landfill free.
