GEELY Automobile Research Institute (OEM) (Jul.2011-May.2014) CFD Engineer

• Conduct more than 20 system-level projects of 3D CFD thermal management analysis on underhood and conjugate heat transfer simulations. Proficient in building complex and large vehicle CFD models.

• Analysis on airflow and front end design to maximize the heat dissipation efficiency of Heat Exchangers.

• Conduct aerodynamic analysis for the whole vehicle and construct Geely cars aerodynamic database. Familiar with wind tunnel test and data processing. Perform calibration analysis with wind tunnel results to improve model validity.

• Conduct aerodynamic analysis of air filter resistance, mirror drag optimization and windshield defrosting.

• Familiar with 1D, 3D (GT and StarCCM+) analysis of engine thermal simulation and thermal radiation analysis co-simulated with Radtherm.

• Establish and enhance the analysis standards of thermal management analysis procedures for system and components to improve result accuracy or execution speed.

• Collaborate closely with the design engineers and test engineers. Provide design suggestions to design engineers based on interpretation of analysis results. Take part in several thermal tests in thermal wind tunnel and engine dynamometer, familiar with test procedures and test data processing.

• Coordinate two Electric Vehicle’s CAE analysis work, including safety, strength/durability and CFD simulations, communicating and working closely with EV project team through whole R&D stages on behalf of CAE department.

• Write the Java Macro codes in StarCCM+ to increase the efficiency of underhood thermal analysis.

• Take charge of department’s English translation and review works including papers and technical documents. Michigan Technological University (Aug.2014-Dec.2015) Research Project: ‘Vehicle Aerodynamic Drag: Mechanism and its Reduction’

• Study the vehicle aerodynamic drag mechanism and drag origin/distribution on the vehicle body.
