Following 37 year career in zoological profession, I am looking to “reinvent” myself in a new profession in the Sedona, AZ area. Although the focus of my career has been animals, my skill set is records management, logistics planning and coordinating, bookkeeping, and regulatory/policy compliance. I have excellent communication and writing skills and understand the importance of providing outstanding customer service in any venue. I am detailed oriented, conscientious, and have exceptional organizational skills. I am reliable, motivated and able to prioritize and multi-task. Animal Records & Regulatory Compliance Manager/Animal Collections Manager, Philadelphia Zoo, Philadelphia, PA (started in 1981 as Zoological Assistant, following 2 years as Administrative Zoologist at the Jacksonville Zoo)

Manage Animal Records Division and ensure the maintenance and use of quality of animal records; direct document preparation, logistics planning, and scheduling of domestic and international animal shipments; monitor status of legislation pertaining to exotic wildlife and transport and maintain required Federal and local permits; collaborate with curators on collection development and management; provide oversight for compliance with collection policies and procedures; coordinate departmental activities to promote and expedite projects which fulfill institutional goals. Maintain national database for genetic and demographic analysis and management of captive breeding programs for Guam Kingfishers and Geoffroy’s Marmosets.

Transitioned from Genuardi’s Markets/Safeway to Giant following Safeway’s sale of all Genuardi’s to Ahold USA.

Front end service for grocery check-out. Provide excellent customer service. Maintain clean organized check stand and time-permitting clean/organize check stands and surrounding area/return items to stock. Assist manager on duty with other services as requested. Trained to manage U-Scan operation (6 self-serve registers).

October 2002 – June 2013

Merchandiser/Furniture Assembler, SPAR Marketing Services Inc., based in Tarrytown, NJ

Transitioned from National Marketing Services (NMS)/National Assembly Services (NAS) to independent contractor with SPAR Group, Inc. following acquisition of National Marketing Services. Provide merchandising and assembly services to help a broad array of retail companies improve sales, operating efficiency and profits. Product services include product additions, placement, replenishment, labeling, evaluation, repairs/retrofits and deletions. Project services include seasonal and special product promotions, product recalls, and setups. Companies serviced on a routine basis include: Staples (merchandising & furniture assembly), Macy’s (Travel Pro luggage), Toys R Us, and Rite Aid. Companies I serviced on a project basis include: Toys R Us, Costco, JC Penney, Walmart, Vanguard (Sodexo). Flexible scheduling allowed work to be done in conjunction with full time profession and part-time work as a grocery store cashier.
