2004-2012(May): MEDICAL ASSISTANT/EMERGENCY PARAMEDIC AT EMERGENCY AND TRAUMA DEPARTMENT OF IPOH GENERAL HOSPITAL, PERAK MALAYSIA.

TASKS PERFORMED IN THE DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY AND TRUMA

-As a frontline in the Emergency Department to provide early treatment to patients, performing primary and secondary triage of patients, respond and lead the ambulance call, lead the medical team for cases of natural disasters and major accident, managing medication control, manage and operate the department ordering medications, perform procedures such as taking blood, giving medication tablet and injections (IM, IV, Sc), perform intravenous injection (branula, cannula), perform CBD and SPC to male patients, perform ECG and interpretation, as a team leader for resuscitation (moulage team support), operate the AED and defibrillator, CPR (reference as Advanced cardio Life Support), perform a chest tube, thoracho synthesis, intubation with the use of ETT, LMA and Combi tube, perform wound dressing and toilet and suture, give assistance using the cervical collar, spinal board, KED and scoop stretcher, bandaging, splinting and apply POP for patients.

HEALTH & EMERGENCY CARE PROVIDER AT OFFSHORE.

I do understand psychology of all personnel working on board the rig, platform and drillship. So in case of any psychological emergency or morbidity I am expert in counseling and stabilizing the patient very effectively.

Can maintain medicine and instruments inventory, can treat patients as per guidelines given by company, medical documentation and to keep it up to date all the time, hygiene inspection along with O.I.M., R.S.T.C. And Camp Boss, preventive health inspections of rig, medical emergency evacuation of patients(MEDEVAC), defibrillators and AED regular checks, pathogen kits and decontamination showers inspections, eye wash stations inspections and along with fully aware about keeping confidentiality of medical data of rig hospital as per guidelines and policies of company and medical ethic.

1. Management and Treatment of patient (Emergency and Non-Emergency)

- Maintain medical facility (Rig/Vessel/Platform Clinic and hospital).

- To give treatment minor and major illness and referral case to onshore for further treatment.

- MEDEVAC (Medical Emergency Evacuation).

- To recognize common ailments and delivered emergency care to Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support (International Trauma Life Support).

2. Inventory and requisition of new stock

- To prescribe medicine to patient for minor illness and Emergency evacuation.

- To issue drugs and maintains inventory system.

- To maintains an adequate stock of medical supplies, drugs & medicines, documentation.

- Submit weekly & monthly report to office.

3. Support

- As coordinator of the emergency response to the rig crews, supervisors and OIM.

- Medical Emergency Response Team – (MERT) as Team Leader.

- Giving health talk biweekly.

- Performs and assist HSE duties.

-Participated safety meeting and pre tour meeting.
