Project -1:“Analyzing and forecasting the production of different principal crops in India”. Description: Different time series curves such as linear curve, logarithmic curve, etc. tried out on the production of the principal crops to study the underlying trend. RMSE and MAPE calculated as performance scale to get the best fitted curve. Final selected best fitted model used to predict the production of each principal crop for next five. Project- 2:“Developing a Dynamic Requisitioning Quantity Determination System under

(T, R) Inventory Policy in FMGC Retail Business”.

Description: The objective was to develop a scientific system for determination of requisitioning quantity, based on actual sales data at retail outlets, which can capture the change of demand pattern over time. Simple exponential smoothing was applied. After applying the model, average inventory was reduced by 31.25% without increasing stock- out % and sales to inventory ratio was increased by about 75%. Statistical skills: Operation research, Time series. Project -3:“Performance Analysis of a School under California Department of Education”. Description: The objective was to determine what factors are related to school performance. Linear regression model is applied by considering school performance as dependent variable and academic performance index, number of students, percentage of fulltime teachers and other attributes of elementary school as independent variables. Statistical skill: Univariate analysis, Sampling, Linear Regression, D-W test. Software used: Base SAS, MS-Excel.
