Value Stream Leader

Managed daily production operations in all manufacturing cells within the Permanent Magnet Motor department.

Conducted daily production meetings with support staff. Production priorities, shipping schedules, part shortages and capacity issues were reviewed and action items assigned were necessary.

Led daily Gemba walks.

Worked with plant Planner/Scheduler to assure all customer orders were met in a timely manner and plant capacities were utilized efficiently with minimal non value added work.

Coordinated work flow within each cell to assure all components were produced in a continuous flow atmosphere. Utilized principles of Synchronous Flow Manufacturing to focus employee labor efforts according to demand/bottleneck in the process flow.

Assured all production goals were met and achieved. Reported production numbers daily to upper management thru various Excel spreadsheets and reporting mechanisms.

Worked with Quality Manager reviewing quality standards and assuring quality goals/standards set forth by Plant Manager, the company and customer were met.

Operated with Manufacturing Engineering establishing 5S Methodology in the plant. Training of associates and assuring adherence to the 5S system. Also worked together on process improvements and implementation of these enhancements.

Assured all plant safety rules and regulations were adhered to by all plant associates.

Completed employee performance reviews. Conducted counseling and discipline as needed, monitored employees’ performance, attendance, productivity, etc.

Responsible for maintaining plant staffing levels, managing overtime and department spending according to established budgets and KPI’s.

BOSTIK, INC, Twinsburg, OH

Plant Operations Manager 2004 – 2009

Managed daily operations of an 82,000 square foot manufacturing facility with a $1.5 million operating budget. Maintained a PFC within .4% of budget annually.

Implemented work teams and basic principles of Lean Manufacturing, which resulted in a reduction in Machine Hours/Batch, an increase in Throughput and an increase in Lbs. Produced/Hour.

As a result of these increased efficiencies overtime was reduced as well as % Rejected Batches.
