Designed and implemented programs for 10 plants in 3 states, totaling 550-950 employees. Well versed in Labor, OSHA, EPA, DOT, DEP, DEC, NY, NJ, CT, RI, & MA regulations. Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) for a number of firms.

Created and implemented many incentive programs for ongoing safety compliance, most successful was safety bingo run at 3 plants. Recordable events dropped 50% within 6 months, compliance up 100%.

Instituted inspections via NJ/NY for OSHA compliance at major plants. Inspections made Federal OSHA inspections non-mandatory. Program instituted many reforms, resulted in good relationship with states and 5% lower premium on workman compensation insurance.

Generated and maintained EH&S Policy manual, codified various policies and procedures for 10 plants in the tri- state area. Also had work instructions (SOP’s) for certain high risk operations.

Coordinated air emissions testing and reporting for 6 MW generators in the Queens’s location for continued permitting and operation by NY DEC.

Developed and implemented Employee Handbook for all 10 locations and 4 different union contracts. Handbook was used as model for other joint ventures in U.S. Project completed within 60 days.

Cut payroll costs by over $150,000 / month by tracking overtime and putting supervisors on notice they would have to pre-approve any overtime.

Implemented and trained all employees on new harassment policy. Led two investigations under this new policy.

Member of union contract committee for 3 contracts. Lead person for 4 arbitration cases, won all. Excellent relationships with business agents and employee union members. Project Management:

Designed and implemented $5 million storm water treatment systems at 5 plants. Systems brought the locations into compliance for process and non-process discharge to waterways. Systems were designed to be automatic with various controls to monitor system real-time. Set up associated storm water monitoring programs.

Realigned $9 million residue disposal costs by undertaking full review of transportation issues and disposal options; changed carriers, disposal sites, and set up periodic reviews to save more than $3 million in 1st year. Created and implemented treatment methodology to be used in lowering leachable contaminants from process residue. Method allowed us to dispose of material at much lower cost and not fall under hazardous waste rules. Method was incorporated into NJ, NY, MA, RI and CA operations. Saving were >$2 million per year. Member on Senior Management Team(s), involved and contributed to all aspects of business and new business development. Coached and mentored all levels within organization.

Managed 5-25 person staffs for HR, EH&S, laboratory and Executive Coaching / Outplacement. These groups were in the same and remote locations. Staff development, cross-training and employee growth were hallmarks training, programs and employee development efforts.

Spokesperson and coordinated events where PR statements were needed to be made in response for fire, death, lawsuits and environmental discharge events.
