I have two years of related experience in the areas of office secretary work. As someone who
has worked the front desk of a dental office, I am able to react and adapt to a dynamic, variable
atmosphere. I have experience making calls to insurance companies, inputting patient information, and
also contacting patients to confirm or set-up appointments. I am also very sociable, easy-to-approach
verbally and physically, and very engaging. I have three-and-a-half years of experience working with
adults and children in an environment where many phone calls and conversations would need to take
place.
My current job with the Aging & Disability Resource Center started me as an Information &
Referral Specialist, which was essentially the front lines for the Elderly and Disabled residents of
Broward County seeking services that were available in the community. Within three months, through
the desire to understand our role in the community and to grow as a person immersed within my field, I
was promoted to a Medicaid Benefits Specialist. Within two months of obtaining this position, my
Director felt I was qualified to also take on the most engaging cases in Broward as an Adult Protective
Services Evaluator. Through this promotion, I've learned how to deal with clients, both young and old,
in the most dire of situations caused by neglect or abuse. I believe this ability to immediately quell the
unrest caused by situations which others would find deplorable was crucial in my understanding of
what to say and how to articulate to such clients. With these positions, I have acquired extensive
knowledge in programs used by the State, namely REFER, CIRTS, FLMMIS(Florida Medicaid) and
PartnerView.
My strengths include having a very personable attitude, very hard-working, and extremely
friendly to co-workers and customers/clients. I have always found a solution to any problem, regardless
of whether it comes from my own knowledge, or the knowledge of someone else. I am able to handle
any flow of work, and can always handle stressful situations with careful, objective reasoning. I am
also extremely well-versed with computers, being able to troubleshoot and solve most problems that
may arise.
I am able to work any time of day for as many hours as needed. I have no problem with staying
late or coming in early to get a job done. I am also very reliable, with a reliable form of transportation
as well as a cell-phone, so I'm able to be reached at any time.
