Mr. Moffitt is a graduate of the University of Utah with Master of Architect degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He has over thirty years of experience in the fields of Architecture, Planning, Construction Administration, and Forensic Investigation; and has Owner-Principal level experience in commercial and residential construction technology. He has been a Licensed Architect since 1985, and is currently licensed in Arizona, Nevada, and Utah. Mr. Moffitt is also NCARB Certified.
Project experience includes large custom residences, single-family homes, multi-family housing, educational and academic facilities, resort hotels and casinos, non-gaming hotels, commercial office buildings, retail shopping centers, community libraries, governmental and institutional buildings, athletic facilities, warehousing, churches, and correctional facilities. Mr. Moffitt has extensive experience in all types of construction. He has designed single-family detached housing and multi-family attached housing, in varying degrees of density, and in low-rise, mid-rise, and high-rise configurations. He has designed a variety of professional, commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings including; office buildings, multi-story shells, and tenant improvements. He has been involved in the planning and design of resort hotels, casinos, restaurants, and retail stores.
As a designated Architectural Expert, he provides a professional level of expertise with regard to the principals of design, Standard of Care, code compliance, and in-place construction. He also provides interpretive documentation of state and local building code criteria, ADA/Fair Housing accessibility compliance, and mechanism of failure of building components. Mr. Moffitt has a working knowledge of the mechanics of materials and failure diagnosis. He is knowledgeable in the construction sequencing, systems interface and project closeout criteria. Mr. Moffitt has background and experience in forensic analysis, preparation of repair methodologies and recommendations, and the cost of repair associated with remediation of construction defects. He prepares detailed technical analyses of findings, interpretive causation, and appropriate repair scope.
Mr. Moffitt has experience in contract documentation, including specifications, details of construction, AIA standard forms of agreement and general conditions of contracts. He has background and experience in forensic analysis and Premise Liability investigation, is an English XL Tribometrist, provides repair methodologies and recommendations, and costs to repair estimates associated with remediation of construction defects and insurance claims.
Mr. Moffitt has specialized experience in Construction Defect Litigation. He has directed and participated in all types of inspection protocols and documentation of latent conditions. He has prepared assessment and evaluation reports with appropriate support documentation, alternate repair methodologies, and product evaluations. He has attended mediations and provided expert testimony at deposition and trial.
Mr. Moffitt also has specialized experience in Property Loss investigations including hail, wind, ice and snow damage to roofing systems, hail damage to air conditioning units, water intrusion and resultant damage, and glazing systems failures. He has participated in the Insurance Appraisal process and has directed and participated in all types of inspection protocols and documentation of latent conditions. He has prepared assessment and evaluation reports with appropriate support documentation, alternate repair methodologies, and product evaluations.
