Chemical Process Engineer III Frieslandcampina Ingredients North America Corp. Delhi, New York 6/2011-11/2015 Develop and implement new processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the manufacturing facility for a multimillion dollar company specializing in the hydrolysis of proteins for the consumable goods and pharmaceutical industries. Lead Engineer to several high profile, big capital projects ranging from $1M to $5M. Support the process design and equipment selection from the laboratory to commercial scale up. Perform scale up studies, risk assessments, develop P&ID diagrams, and utilize engineering principles. Consistently meet all predefined goals and objectives of each project as per budgetary and quality requirements.

• Experienced in mass and energy balances, HAZOP studies, risk assessments, process descriptions, and functional automation descriptions.

• Validate the process and equipment for commissioning and startup.

• Serve as a part of cross-functional expert teams, on several projects including: o Improved the safety and quality of the production facility by developing and building a new Diatomaceous earth filtration system:

Filtration technology selection study; Design of filtration equipment and filter media from laboratory/pilot scale to production scale including scale up based on product and process quality criteria for 30 different hydrolized protein products.

Design of filtration system ancilary equipment: tanks, dosing equipment (bulk bag system), dry/wet scrubber, utility systems.

New filtration building including building design according to operational and quality (zoning) requirements.

Optimization of current DE filtration system resulted in $100K in savings for downstream processing by minimizing the processing time.

o Increased the capacity, quality, and safety of the operations by upgrading the existing plant scrubber. o Effectively reduced operating costs of downstream processing by reducing idle time on the tower drier and optimizing the existing filtration processes.

Pilot tower drier platform optimization resulted in $150K in cost savings. Zarko Vucicevic 615-***-**** • Page 2

Air filtration system optimization for the tower drier resulted in $20K in savings and improved air quality.
