Resume:

January **, ****

Hello,

I am so pleased to send you this resumé highlighting my career and believe I would be an excellent fit – possessing the skill set you require. I have extensive publication work and have even done work trilingually for the Grand Council of the Crees in recent years. I am aware of all the technical skills needed of working in this fashion and love a challenge. My brother visited Nunavut with his job and told wonderful stories of his visit and the people. I would very much like to know more about the culture there. Please find attached my resume for the position. With over 15 years of experience as a designer, working in large and boutique firms and companies in Toronto and in Ottawa, and owning my own company in Prince Edward County, I have a breadth of knowledge and experience – a lot of it in creating publication and printed products.

My history of managing a full range of promotional products for clients has included website design (traditional and blog-based), ad campaigns (development and design), art direction

(photo shoots, illustrators), social media coordination, with a specialty in visual identity: logo branding, business cards, media kits, brochures, stationary, posters, packaging, invitations, banners, signs, election candidate signs, t-shirts, book covers, etc. My work as an employee and sole proprietor has been marked by my consistent commitment to both individual and team success, evidenced by the numerous graphic design and community awards that I have won over the years. Most significantly, I have shown a unique capacity to learn quickly and adapt to clients’ needs. Plus I’m a lot of fun. I am extremely proficient in the Adobe Suite of products and hold every skill you required in the posting. I would very much like to be considered for the position. I look forward to chatting with you about this opportunity. René J Dick

WHAT I DO

I’m an accomplished designer with the amazing ability to evoke a sense of passion into projects with those around me; enabling team members, partners, and clients to see the bigger, brighter picture. I believe strong design starts with a

‘big idea’. My infectious sense of humour, determination and energetic demeanor ensures each design solution is executed with the highest level of skill and ability. I love design, not afraid to break rules and take chances, while remaining true to design principles.

WHAT I LOVE

I love to ‘do-si-do’ with my square dancing troupe weekly. I have a lot of fun singing at karaoke although I realize that I have little talent in that area. I enjoy the outdoors and regularly bicycle, hike and rock climb. I’m also extremely epicurious by nature trying to use locally grown and seasonal options whenever possible. I’m positive, live a good life and am always up for an adventure – usually capturing it on Instagram.
