Elementized News Project

The application delivers headlines in precisely tagged elements on a low latency feed. Numerical data, timestamps and other information are placed into XML-tagged fields, allowing trading models and computer programs to process, interpret and take action on breaking news quickly. This project won the Best Data Solution in year 2007.

Responsibilities:

Designed and developed a Mapping System using Oracle 11g database to map over 350 Economic Indicators and Corporate News to auto-published headlines in 15 languages.

Developed and maintained an Unix based application to parse the Elementized Data using Xerces-C, configure headlines in different languages using the Mapping System and send headlines for publication.

Reduced development time and cost by the automation of HTML templates for publishing Elementized Data.

This is Java application to produce headlines for investment changes, adds or deletes for major investment managers.

Responsibilities:

Created event handler to process incoming XML data.

AT & T Communications - Feb 1988 to Aug 2005 - Project Lead

Location And Building Inventory Project

The is one of the components in the Database of Record, a Data Warehouse Project. It collected different inventory data such as switch capacity, equipment, ordering, and sales from the various systems. The data was then normalized and reconciled in order to build Oracle Data Marts to support Metrics, Operational Reports and user Ad Hoc Queries.

Project led a team of 4 to 6 developers to develop a variety of web-based tools that allow users to easily view and download reports as well as perform ad-hoc queries to analyze in support of business decisions.

Designed and developed ETL to extract data from various databases such as Oracle and Sybase, translate and load the data to Oracle 8i databases using PL/SQL, Oracle stored procedures, C, Pro*C, Unix Shell Scripts, SQL Loader on UNIX platform.
