Qualified as Engineering Watch Supervisor and Engineering Officer of the Watch. Received Master Training Specialist while serving as an instructor at a US Navy Nuclear Prototype.

Graduated from US Navy Nuclear Propulsion School, various US Navy Electrical Schools and Electronic Schools.

Worked on many types of motors on submarines; from large 3 phase AC to smaller single phase motors and both large and small DC motors.

Last 13 years in the navy, was a supervisor supervising both electrical workers and mechanical workers performing electrical repairs and mechanical repairs; from doing in place refurbishment of generators to lapping valves, welding nuclear valves and nuclear piping and setting freeze seals.

Able to read mechanical and electrical drawings and blueprints.

Have DOD Security Clearance issued by OPM.

Have been trained on SAT type training and am very familiar with ADDIE. Have developed training curriculum for US Navy Nuclear students and for Nuclear and Non-nuclear Inspectors.

Certified in Fiber Optics. Certified in multi-pin connectors.

August 2015 to Present: Supervisor for L-3 in Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Contract supervisor. Supervises contract skilled labors in performance of their duties.

July 2014 to August 2015: Retired from HII-Newport News Shipyard

January 2005 to July 2014: Newport News Shipyard: Nuclear Electrical Inspector on New construction aircraft carriers and Virginia Class Submarines.

From 2012 to 2014 was electrical trainer for nuclear and non-nuclear inspectors. Redesigned the entire training program for all nuclear and non-nuclear electrical inspectors.

Managed all new electrical inspectors and provided OJT and classroom instruction.

Only electrical inspector assigned to perform source inspections for submarine switchboards at the L-3 SPD plant in Philadelphia.

Only inspector certified to perform electrical inspections, nuclear pipe welding inspections (Certified Level II VT) and special nuclear service equipment while at HII including inspecting nuclear lifting and handling gear, shackles, hooks, cranes, chain hoists and all other nuclear rigging gear.

January 2004 to January 2005: Electrician in the Virginia Class new construction program.

Was assigned as Make-Up Foreman in the case the foreman was absent. Managed a crew of crew of 10 electricians.

August 1997 to October 2003. Performed duties as an electrician in Colonna’s and Lyon’s shipyards.

June 1976 to July 1997: US Navy. Was department Head on 1 submarine, a nuclear repair facility and as instructor at a Navy land-based nuclear facility. Qualified as Engineering Officer of the Watch and Engineering Watch Supervisor.

On the submarine, managed a crew of 65 technicians who were mechanics, electricians, Reactor Operators and chemists. Supervised training, watch standing, maintenance and casualty operations.

Was department head in the nuclear repair facility. Senior Nuclear Repair Coordinator, coordinating mechanical repairs on submarine reactor plants. Supervised nuclear repairs to ten submarines, managed a department of 46 technicians including nuclear welders, electricians, planners, procedure writers and QA personnel. Managed the training of the technicians and the quality of their repairs.

Was department head at a nuclear training facility where the Navy had an operational nuclear power plant. Managed a staff of 40 instructors and 65 students. Managed the students training, maintenance on the power plant and overall plant conditions. Responsible for ensuring students would be capable of operating a nuclear power plant while either on a submarine or aircraft carrier while at sea. Also instructed naval officers on the operation and theory of nuclear plant operations.

Was awarded as Master Training Specialist. Ranked number one instructor the last three grading periods.

Chief Electrician’s Mate. Managed and supervised a crew of 13 electricians including electrical maintenance, training and watch standing.
