ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Graduate Research, Materials Science and Engineering May 2013 – May 2015
NJIT Thesis Project
Synthesis and characterization of medical hydrogels, adhesives and drug delivery materials based on isosorbide technology
Conducted various lab experiments using differential scanning calorimetry to determine the expected ratio of epoxy to amine, which ensured the target formation of the hydrogel material, was achieved.
Evaluated the performance of hydrogel in water to determine which hydrogels were most efficient based on their initial and final weights.
Designed experimental procedure to determine the optimal testing criteria for the materials used in curing by running ratio and temperature analysis.
Generated weekly reports for the faculty, which included detailed description of the progress of the hydrogel lab trials and results.
Characterized hydrogels using NMR and FTIR
Easy Go Tots Chair (Senior Project) Sept 2012 – May 2013
Led a group of four to design and assemble a portable toilet seat for children with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy.
Prepared Institutional Review Board Document and the patent application.
Prepared High-level requirement documents and performed market research for customer needs and prevention of patent infringement.
Used CAD to develop the blue print for the adaptive toilet seat.
Measurement Lab for Physiological Systems & Tissue Sept 2012 – Dec 2012
Designed and conducted experiments, which were used to develop solutions when faced with challenging situations in the biomedical field.
•Computational modeling of the cardiovascular system using Simulink in Matlab
•Predicted changes in cardiovascular function generated by the baroreceptor reflex
