Project: IRec - Intercompany Reconciliation

Project Description:
IRec is an intelligent reconciliation desktop tool with a configurable User Interface which helps identify intercompany breaks in balance sheets and reduce exposure to liquidity risks. It involves matching large number of transactions between two legal entities of Morgan Stanley, reconciling them and automatic paydown of the balance. It uses Publisher Subscriber model for real time updates across applications installed on different desktops.
Automated matching and pay-down reduced human intervention greatly, avoided manual errors in handling number and resulted in better productivity. Responsibilities:
• Interacted with business users to gather requirements about the features needed
• Involved in design and development of user interface and middle tier services using Java/J2EE
• Part of the development team of generic matching engine in JAVA, involving various design patterns and Spring framework

Project Description:
Finance toolkit is a web based portal to enhance controllers understanding about ensuring completeness and accuracy of balances in financial statements in accordance with Morgan Stanley's policies and substantiation programs. It includes a user specific dashboard and a separate administration site for the application. Toolkit automatically assigns documents to be read by the controllers based on a business structure and generates reports to the senior management with the statistics in various formats. Toolkit made tracking easier for the senior management, thus increasing their efficiency and made documents accessible to controllers, thus increasing their performance. Responsibilities:
• Understood the design and structure of the legacy application
• Involved in the design, development, testing and implementation of enhancements to the project
