Completed CASS (Coding Accuracy Support System) certification of address correction software, regulatory process licensed by U.S. Postal Service, within tight deadlines, integrating third-party software into system through communication with USPS and vendor partners. Certification was essential for hundreds of clients and represented millions of dollars of revenue per year.
Using the SAS language, created and modified reports, data files, tags for postal containers, and postal barcodes as required by regulations, ensuring system met user requirements.
Improved processes and reduced cost by moving key postal application systems representing thousands of lines of code from mainframe to alternate platforms. Translated code from IBM z/OS assembly language into C/C++, and rewrote other code. Learned new skills and processes, including Agile Development, UNIX, Linux, C/C++ and AWK.
Created and implemented system which tracked and reported quantities of records processed, providing management with timely and accurate data regarding usage of major software processes. Some of this project was done using SAS.
Maintained software that accessed DB2 tables with embedded SQL code within mainframe assembler applications.
Ensured timely, accurate delivery of output files to clients and prevented revenue loss, by investigating, diagnosing and resolving problems such as program abends and explanations of output data.
Enabled accurate and efficient printing of mail pieces and catalogs by creating and maintaining software that met frequently changing needs.
