Wall Street Concepts (a subsidiary of SunGard). Oct. 2004 to Jul. 2015

Deployment Manager and Quality Assurance.

Designed and implemented the company’s best practices for the software life cycle and manage a small group of three to help comply with the best practices. Brought on-board management and development staff with critical implementation methods. Scheduled deployments with group to ensure very little down time and successful targeted deployments. Best practices also included the management of the separation of development, QA and production.

Wrote deployment automation scripts on Linux to compile and deploy to our testing & production environments. The scripts were written in C, C++, Shell scripting, Perl, SQSH, ISQL, Jira/Fisheye/Bamboo, Sybase and MySql relational databases. GUI applications deployed were run with JBoss and Tomcat.

Software changes saved in Subversion(SVN) and were linked to Jira trouble tickets using Fisheye. Subversion hooks allowing proper deployments and bi-directional logging of deployments. GUI builds were done using ANT files and C++ was done by BUILD files.

Was a member of an Agile SCRUM group for new software and used KANBAN method was used for maintenance of the existing applications.

Also brought in as Senior QA Engineer/Tester/Analyst. To design regression test documents and implemented test suites. Managed small group (same as Deployment Group) to document and run testing suites. The suites ensured that GUI was deployed properly.

Participated in the company’s SAS70 certification and clients’ audits. I have CMMI- level 3 certification.

Helped with overall system monitoring and adherence to SLA (Service Level Agreements of 99.75% uptime) standards using Nagios and scripting languages database and system checks.

Transition of India Group for QA and Deployment 2008

Traveled to India to train both the development and QA group to Quality Assurance and deployment practices. At this point the India QA and deployment group was able to work with the India development group to work in an agile environment.

Helped in the training of the India group when cycled to the USA during our busy season, Dec 15 thru May 1. Since this group was from India. I helped in support of this group during their time in New York. Software development and test and deployment was move to India for most of the company’s applications. I brought in winter coats and videos to make their stay comfortable.

Software Development, Software Quality Assurance and Deployment 2002 to 2003

Developed and maintained the NEMOS subsystem of the NRN application. This subsystem communicated user and dialed number information from the international call routing system to downstream NEMOS process. Maintained a local testing application of NEMOS for when the downstream application was not available for testing. Communications between the applications were done using G2 and NIPC. I was also responsible for development and implementation of regression and new feature test to ensure the quality of the product.

Software Development, Quality Assurance, and Deployment 2000 to 2002

Development and testing of 900 provisioning system used for scheduling 900 phone service. My responsibilities were development of the translation of the service logic to CAL and the communication between the application and the 2NCP. I was also responsible for the scheduling portion of the application which brought dialed numbers in and out of service.

Software Development, Testing, and Deployment 1999 to 2000

Implemented scheduling and reports for a meeting reservation and control system. The application was used for the scheduling video conferences and maintaining information of the client companies and personnel from both Client Company and AT&T specialists. Lead tester for the reservation system. Designed and implemented the test plans for the verification of the application. Went to remote locations to train the users, using courseware that I designed, in the use of the application.

Software Development and Testing 1998 to 1999

Designed, developed and tested a series of data feeds that were distributed 800 service information to downstream applications. These data feeds were run on-demand and scheduled. The data feeds were designed to meet the individual needs of the downstream applications and were sent, via ftp, to applications running on UNIX and MVS machines. Design and test plan documentation were required as well and formal code walkthrough.
