PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
PROJECT ENGINEER (MECHANICAL), April 12 ~ Present
WSP CANADA, Calgary, Canada
(Working on Cenovus Energy Narrows Lake SAGD Project)
Responsible for making complete packages for different SAGD equipment like IGF, FWKO, After filters, ORFs, Storage tanks, Pumps etc. including mechanical datasheets and specifications including electrical, instrumentation and civil specifications as well.
Used CSAZ662 and B31.3 to work on Narrows Lake interface piping with other EPCs as a Project Manager and WSP representative.
Performed cost savings for various equipment by selecting more economical and efficient options.
Managed entire piping interface project from Cenovus Energy well site to CPF (Central processing facility).
Performed process calculations and prepared equipment datasheets and technical specifications for equipment related to SAGD process complying process requirements as well as Engineering Codes and Standards such as ASME Sect VIII and B31.3.
Acted as a liaison between Client (Cenovus Energy) and WSP to completely comply Cenovus project specifications and requirements in all technical documents as well as P&IDs.
Developed Request for quotations for various packages for Vendor to submit their proposals.
Developed technical bid evaluation (TBEs) of Vendors’ proposals and technical drawings and reviewed
compliance with Cenovus technical specification and WSP technical documents
Worked with client to perform reliability and maintainability of new equipment and installations by using
LCAM (Life cycle asset management), RCA (Root cause analysis) and RCFA (Root cause failure analysis).
Developed engineering solutions to failures occurred in the past projects and can affect plant functionality and worked on feasibility study for Phase 1B.
Performed final check out for the new installations and equipment. This included FATs (Factory acceptance tests) to ensure functionality.
Performed trouble shooting for different kinds of piping with elevated temperature and pressure.
Worked as a liaison between Vendor and Client as well as an interface with other disciplines within the company to ensure quality and complete incorporation of technical inputs.
Worked on issuing Purchase Order to award the contract and to check Vendor documents and technical drawings.
Worked with Project Engineers to prepare monthly progress report as well as Project forecast for
Mechanical department and presented it to Management.
MECHANICAL ENGINEER, May 11 ~ March 2012
SHAW ENERGY AND CHEMICALS, Mississauga, Canada
Created mechanical equipment datasheets and specifications for both static and rotating equipment as per process requirements complying both Codes and Standards and Project Specifications.
Coordinated with clients and other disciplines to review and fulfill technical compliance in all mechanical datasheets and mechanical deliverables of different projects.
Assisted in designing, equipment sizing and selection and in preparing engineering calculations for pressure vessels, tanks and process columns using design software such as COMPRESS and ETANK.
Generated RFQs, technical bid evaluations and reviewed vendor documents for different static and rotary equipment for ITB and Class III estimates.
Generated general assembly and fabricated detail drawings/sketches using AUTOCAD/SOLID WORK
and made sure that all design changes are properly incorporated to provide timely resolution of fabrication issues.
Coordinated with other disciplines in vendor design review to ensure that equipment agreed upon desired objectives as well as all the required safety aspects.
Provided solutions in addressing mechanical design issues with consideration of cost and made sure that all mechanical related engineering activities for the projects carried out as per project specifications.
MECHANICAL ENGINEER, January 06 ~ November 08
PAKISTAN REFINERY LIMITED, Pakistan
Planned and execute construction and maintenance of above ground, fixed roof, floating roof and floating screen storage tanks of different capacities during new construction as well as in mechanical repairs.
Carried out laying and mechanical maintenance jobs of different piping networks relevant or irrelevant to storage tanks with the help of engineering drawings and engineering codes (API, ASME).
Checked engineering drawings of mechanical jobs involved in project and coordinated with designing department to make sure all engineering drawings are up to the requirement and suitable for site.
Prepared design work and repair plan for indicated tanks and new projects using planning and designing software.
Initiated and reviewed opportunities to maximize site equipment reliability with a focus on equipment availability, equipment downtime reduction and maintenance cost reduction.
Performed various value added preventive maintenance tasks (PPP maintenance) to avoid facility failure before they occur and to reduce/avoid equipment repair costs.
Estimated material cost and construction cost of project and prepared request for quotation, bill of quantity, equipment list and technical specifications to prepare tender documents and estimations for the project.
