Generalized Optimal Location Planning (Spring 2009- October 2012): As the topic of PhD dissertation, studied and introduced efficient solutions for a variety of “optimal location queries” on very large and dynamic network datasets. An end-to-end testbed was developed in Visual C# for evaluation of the proposed solutions.

Development of a management system and geographic interface for biological resource data (Spring 2011): Developed a geographic data viewer capable of presenting information about the distribution of the sensitive biological resources on the property. The viewer also provides search for layers and works with standard XML metadata in addition to metadata provided in Ecological Metadata Language (EML). The data viewer was developed with ArcGIS Viewer for Flex 2.

Green Visions Plan for 21st Century Southern California (Fall 2006-2008): Developed a website to produce suites of GIS web-based planning tools to help guide future investments in land acquisition, habitat restoration, watershed protection, and park facilities in Southern California. The tool includes basic map tools and advanced geo-processing tools written as dynamic link libraries using VB6 and ArcObjects. The ArcIMS server serves as the map server and Green Visions data layers are stored in Microsoft SQL Server and accessed through ArcSDE gateway. The Green Visions web site implemented using ASP and Javascript.

Online Habitat Restoration Tools (Spring 2009- Summer 2009): Developed an online tool within the Green Vision Web Site to assist users in evaluating which target species would be provided habitat if an area were to be restored to native vegetation. The tool includes a map of the density of wildlife species of conservation interests and advanced geo-processing tools.

COSMOS/PEER-LL Geospatial Web service (Spring 2006): Implemented a web service to link multiple data sets of a Geotechnical Virtual Data Centers (GVDC) and query the databases and show the geotechnical data location on Google Maps. The web service is developed using Java API for XML web services, and Google Map API. The GVDC database is stored in PostgreSQL.

USC Library Digital Archive GeoBrowser (Summer 2005): Designed and implemented a GeoBrowser application to provide the USC Library Digital Archive Web site with advanced additional spatial search capabilities and includes an interactive map, a geocoder and a gazetteer. The Geobrowser is a custom-built ESRI ArcIMS map coded using Java, JavaServer Pages and JavaServer Faces (JSF).

Teaching Assistant/ Lab Instructor, USC GIS Research Laboratory Fall 2006 and Fall 2008

Instructed laboratory sessions for the Water Planet course and mentored undergraduate student

Lead Application Developer, Sazeh Company, Tehran, Iran Feb 2001- Dec 2004

Lead team of software developers to design and develop a web-based Timesheet Management System to record the employees' timesheets and provide reports used for project scheduling and project management. Also, design, implementation and maintenance of databases (Microsoft SQL server) for Sazeh intranet applications.
