Dear Hiring manager
I am writing to apply for the position of Director / Construction Manager. I offer twenty-five years of experience in all phases of construction management and engineering. I know how to meet budgets and deadlines in a timely manner, and I have strong computer and Autocad skills. I am very comfortable working with diverse individuals, groups, owners, investors, government officials and contractors to bring projects to completion.
For example, I was hired to replace the owner’s Rep. / Sr. construction manager who had fallen behind schedule and was significantly over budget. The project’s many components included an historic façade and a party wall shared with an adjacent building. An added challenge was the poor soils distributed throughout a very constrained urban site. I was able to quickly get up to speed and reassured the owner, city and contractors that the project could be completed on time. Upon completion, the lead architect singled me out as a major contributor to “getting the job done”.
In 2007, I collaborated on the design and construction of a high-end residential development which was part of a larger planned community. The development was later recognized for its quality construction, and the owner thanked me for my attention to detail and for my intellectual contributions.
In 2013 I was hired to assist the president of construction. My responsibilities would include overseeing the construction of new multi family / Mix-use projects in both Washington and Texas. Early in 2014 Weidner properties was having contractor issues in Tx. I was then asked to take over two projects and get the projects back on track. I have now completed my obligation and the projects are being occupied. My family and I are back home now in Shoreline WA and looking for my next endeavor.
I relish the challenge of discovering solutions to unresolved issues, and I am rarely fazed by the responsibilities of project management. I enjoy helping my colleagues identify ways to minimize waste and to manage the inevitable pressure.
I am willing to work on projects as needed, whether in a managerial, advisory or other capacity. ’
I have enclosed my resume; if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me by cell or by email.
I look forward to hearing from you, and I thank you in advance for considering my qualifications.
Sincerely,
Charles Lundberg
