About Client: Boots Retail International (BRI) is a famous retail chain in the United Kingdom.Boots International uses an instance of SAP R/3 known as Sapphire to manage its global wholesale business in Burton (UK) as well as the DC in Thailand. BI’s retail business in Thailand (BRT) uses Streetwise application for warehouse management of local operations in Thailand. The same instance of Streetwise was enhanced for Export DC to cater global needs. All interfaces between Sapphire and RIMS will be replicated in the new landscape between Sapphires and streetwise.

Project Role and Responsibilities: Forest lab had upgraded its SAP systems from EHP6 SP7 to EHP6 SP8 (ECC Upgrade). The implementation of the ECC Upgrade Project supports the Functional Testing of the SAP Modules- HR, SCM and FICO. As a part of the ECC Upgrade, our team performed the T-code based Functional testing of HR, SCM and FICO modules of SAP in order to ensure the functionalities were not impacted after the ECC Upgrade. In this Project I worked in SCM work stream that involved executing 210 manual test cases from SAP SD, MM, IM and LE modules.

About Client: Merck is a leading pharmaceutical brand and a leading manufacturer of drugs and vaccines. COMET (Collaborating one MERCK to enable transformation) is MERCK’s worldwide SAP implementation and SAP rollout program. COMET Testing involved SAP System Integration Testing, Regression Testing and User Acceptance Testing of Merck’s SAP Implementation and rollouts across geographies.

Project Description: In Comet Testing, Client wanted to automate and execute its SAP ECC and SAP SRM applications while making use of the automation approach to test its end to end functionality across all

industry function covering- OtC (Order to Cash), SCM (supply chain management), StS (Source to Supply), FBM (Financial and Controlling) and all Interfaces and TIBCO communication between SAP and Legacy applications.

Project Challenge – Client had implemented SAP in USA and had done rollouts in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Europe and Asia, US implementation was extremely complex in terms of a number of SAP test case, SAP functionalities and customized business processes. And as the SAP implementation and rollouts were covering new markets (countries) client added new customized business processes applicable for each particular market and also added standard SAP business processes present in previous markets. Because of this implementation and rollouts in different markets the number of test cases for regression testing increased by big numbers, So Test execution was becoming complex and challenging in terms of functional and data issues, understanding customized business processes and functionalities for each market specific scenario, and also challenge for complete execution of test release on time with high quality.

To face this challenge we (COMET Test Team) came up with GTP (Generic Test Plant) concept, In GTP framework we separated test scenarios in two parts- one for Global Markets, and other for Market Specific functionalities. In Global scenario we designed test cases and test scenarios for standard business processes present in all markets, and for Market Specific scenario we designed test cases to test market specific customized functionalities.

For all rollouts and SAP upgrades Global scenario executes once in any common market and market specific scenario executes for each required market. This helped to reduce repeated test cases and test scenarios while testing same functionality with same testing scope within time and high quality. In GTP Framework we also developed pre requisite test components to handle frequently occurring functional and data issues to avoid test case failure in run mode. These prerequisite components helped tremendously to increase execution productivity by minimizing SAP data issues and time required to resolves this issues.

Responsibilities: delivered following tasks:

1.Support Automation test team to resolve SAP data related and functional issues

2.To keep Defect Track and communicate with Onsite and Processes team to get them resolved.
