CURRENT EMPLOYMENT

Self employed Massage Therapist & freelance Bridal make-up artist but I am looking for somewhere with progression opportunities.

LAST POSITION

Deputy Branch Manager (In training for Store Manager)

Schuh

October 2013 to February 2015

After closing my business I joined Schuh as a part time sales advisor with a goal in mind to become a member of management, within only 3 months of being with the company I was given this opportunity.

I helped to run a busy store with a team of 12 part time staff.

I was highly thought of by higher management within the company and had high hopes for the future with the reality of running my own store by April 2015.

Unfortunately I had to hand in my notice to Schuh in February 2015. This was due to stress with my grandma having two heart attacks then my grandad passing away suddenly all in December of 2014.

I have had plenty of time to rest now and I am certainly ready to get back into the full swing of things.

During my time off I have been offering my services to a spa in York, training current and new staff, promoting retail and providing beauty/holistic treatments.

Duties at Schuh included: Profit & sales management, team briefing, analysing store/company kpi reports, managing wage-sales, staff rotas, in-store training, putting together staff training sessions, cash flow management, product training, merchandising in store, liaising with regional/divisional management and staff coaching.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

October 2013-Present date

Deputy Store Manager

Schuh

2011-2013

Business owner

Health & Beauty Therapist/Salon educator

Offering mainly sports massage but also incorporated beauty/holistic therapy as well as Tattoo removal, Semi permanent make-up, Botox and facial fillers.

2003-2010

Drewton Retreat, Drewton Manor Estate, South Cave, East Yorks

(Previously known as Elements hair & beauty)

Senior Aveda therapist/Salon trainer.

I started working at Drewton Retreat during my last few months of college, in February 2003 and worked there consistently, full time until 2005.

I then decided to work leisurely for the company due to the birth of our first child until 2010.

During my time at Drewton I gained irreplaceable knowledge and experience in the beauty and holistic field.

Drewton provided me with training schedules from Aveda, Pevonia, Elemis, OPI nails, Finders spa, Hydrotherm massage, Pregnancy massage, PHD waxing and St Tropez tanning.

I worked myself up from being a Saturday therapist to the senior therapist/salon trainer.

My main duties were to provide every individual with a feeling of well-being and serenity, provide impeccable treatments and advice, caring of clients, reception/admin duties, organise events, assure smooth running of the salon, give out duties to other staff members, stock taking, cashing up and providing the beauty juniors with training of the new treatments that were becoming available to our clients.

I used ‘Premier Spa’ on a regular basis;

This particular system held confidential documents including; Client information, stock availability, treatments booked in for the salon and staff details.

I used the power point program regularly for training presentations and meetings and really enjoy using it; I find it to be a great asset to business.

I also used an office admin package which I create documents i.e. references, letters to clients, charities and outside companies.

I also use this system for ‘end of day’ procedure.

I have used these particular systems for over eight years so I feel quite confident using a pc and its programs.

Alongside working fractionally at the salon and being a full time mother, I offered some mobile therapy and took part in refresher courses to keep me up to date with the ever changing health and beauty industry.

I have also studied at Goole College on the City & Guilds Teaching course (7303 PTTLS)

This enables me to teach students of 16 + years in Beauty Therapy, Customer service and Key skills although I would also like to progress into assessing students in the future.

To give others the opportunity to learn is something I will strive to do.

To teach others a new skill, help them towards qualifications and provide life experience is one of my passions that I will strive for to achieve.

MY BACKGROUND OUTSIDE THE HEALTH & BEAUTY INDUSTRY:

The Catalogue Bargain Shop, Goole, East Yorkshire.

I worked there when I initially left school in June 2001, until I started full time college at Queens Gardens, Hull in September 2001. My duties were to put out new stock, serve and help the general public, contribute to the general cleaning and up keep of the store.

H.Samuels Jewellers, Goole, East Yorkshire.

I worked here between November 2008-December 24th 2008.

This was only a temporary position over the Christmas period.

H.Samuels then asked me back to work for them the following year (2009-2010) over Christmas but also offered me permanent part time hours afterwards of which I accepted.

My duties were to serve the general public, provide excellent customer service, meet targets, organise the window displays, arrange the jewellery cabinets, stock taking, prepare jewellery/gift sections for promotions/sale, order new stock either over the phone or on the internet, contribute to the cleaning of the store, helped out occasionally with cashing up and to work well as part of a long established team.

I also put myself forward for specific exams that could be taken.

These were to gain extra credits and qualifications in Watches and Gems.

I found the watch side to be more of an interest and thoroughly enjoyed learning new skills.

Unfortunately I had to leave H.Samuels after six months due to child care issues at the time.

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP:

I am a member of the IFL (Institute for Learning)

I enjoy my time with family and friends.

I'm a bit of a science geek, I love cooking, horse riding, reading biographies, following fashion, going on holidays and of course shopping for those must have shoes!

I am a confident, reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic individual.

I take pride in my appearance and believe that first impressions really do count.

I love fashion and individuality.

I enjoy adapting vintage garments into new current outfits; creating an individual but classic style.

I cope very well on my own as well as being able to work as part of a team successfully.

I feel I have a good sense of humour;

I’m positive, reliable, and have a passionate business mind.

I have bags of energy and a proactive approach towards difficult and new situations.

I am very proud of my achievements but I welcome new and challenging opportunities.

FLEXIBILITY:

I am available to start work with immediate effect.

I am quite flexible and have an excellent support unit but our family time is also very important to us.

Thank you for taking the time to read over my C.V and covering letter, I look forward to hearing from you in the near future!
