I worked in HCG Cancer Hospital as a Medical Social Worker. May-13 to Apr-14

“In HCG, I was working to co-ordinate the OPD patients suffering from cancer.

eg, When patient comes first time in hospital, I have to guide them that where he/she should go for treatments. I try to make them friendly to the departments and staff.

I co-ordinate their appointments and meetings with doctors.

I have done counseling and motivate them live a cancer-free good life.

When any patient misbehaves with staff or doctor, I try to calm down the patient & try to solve their problems.

In hospital, there is running HCG foundation which is helping poor cancer patient for the treatment and medicine. My work was to find the poor patient and refer them to HCG foundation.

I did events to utilize money for HCG foundation.

I also met IPD patient & I try to know their problems and solve it.

I worked in Chuwannagar Trust as a Out rich worker. Nov-12 to May-13

In that ngo, I worked with transsexual (MSM-Male Sex with Male) community.

I worked as outreach worker. I had to participate to organize the awareness programs of HIV/AIDS.

I had to meet MSM, distribute condoms and convince them to check their HIV/AIDS status.

I also did counseling of MSMs.

I was participated in a survey about the health of elders in old-age homes and senior citizens in Ahmedabad district at HELP-AGE INDIA. May-11 to Oct-12

In HELP-AGE INDIA I did three different types of surveys which were based on health of old age people.

1st survey was based on the old age people who are living old age homes in Ahmedabad district.

2nd survey was related to senior citizens in Ahmedabad city who are connected with the associations.

3rd survey was related to the health of old age people who are living in slum area of Ahmedabad.

I worked with MMU (Mobile Medical Unit) which goes in the slum areas and providing medicine and first aid facilities to senior citizens with nominal charges every week.

I am life time volunteer of Help-Age India.
