BHP Billiton & Mitsubishi -Coal Mine Project, Queensland, Australia

The Daunia Coal Mine project is a 50-50 joint venture between BHP Billiton & Mitsubishi Development Pty Ltd, managed by BMA. The project is for the development of a Greenfield coal mine, which will produce approx. 4 million tonnes per annum of coking coal. The project components include: a coal handling and preparation plant (CHPP), a product conveyor, Overhead 66 kv transmission line, heavy vehicle workshop, wash-down facilities, fueling facilities, environmental dam, haul road, power and water reticulation & support facilities, mining equipment, etc.

As field cost engineer, responsible for the management of the trend program. Monitoring the project budget, scope and project development, flagging all deviations from budget. Preparing and evaluating trends. Communicating the requirements of the trend program to the project team, holding periodic trend meetings, and supporting the evaluation and review of trends, development of mitigation plans and the monitoring of trend resolution status through the trend register, monthly progress and QURR reports, employing the ePCWorks as the primary cost control tool.

A Joint Venture of Vista Projects Limited and IMV Projects. Cenovus expanded its Christina Lake Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage facilities, constituting multiple expansions with Phases C, D & E, approx $800 Million each, for an expected design capacity of 98,800 bpcd.

Lead Project Controls role on the Cenovus Christina Lake Phases 1C & IE projects. Responsibilities included setting the baseline and control budgets, WBS and project code of accounts, commitment tracking, expenditures, cash flow forecasts, analysis, and change control and management.
