VOM is for one of the world’s largest automakers and it provides applications for maintaining vehicle specifications, allocating product to dealers, selecting orders to be sent to plant, applying allocation and marketing constraints and managing orders. Allocation application is used to distribute production volumes for the marketing divisions, the Constraints application provides a mechanism to control the vehicle order fulfillment, the Vehicle Order Selection application distributes marketing constraints entered at a Distribution Entity level to a dealer level and the Order Management application manages tracks and controls the flow of orders to Production Control. VOM is an enhancement project that will reuse the existing hardware/software architecture. It requires modifications to the VOM Allocation application (SPA), Order Management, Constraints, and Vehicle Order Selection.

The Aim of the project is to convert the hard copy newspapers, which is in the form of microfilm images to XML format. Conversion of the 18th Centuries daily news magazines into XML carries various stages of processing for 100% accuracy.

The first stage is Pre Process. Article, Advertisement and other thing in the magazine. Then the next stage is OCR (Optical Character Regularization) all the article and advertisement in the magazine has been OCR’ed. The image has been posted to the keying operator in which the operator is typing the article. The next stage is comparing.

This stage the two documents OCR, Keying document and image are compared and changes are made and new compared document has been saved then the compared document is cut into small Jpegs of the predefined co-ordinates and then it is send to proofing when the proofing is completed then it has been XML tagged and searchable PDF is generated out of it.
