Materials/Inventory Manager - Lean Champion

Managed entire materials organization for Plumbing Supply wholesale and distributor; encompassing procurement, sourcing, warehouse management, logistics, and distribution for multiple distribution centers. Ensured organization met 99.5% production availability by managing $27M daily inventory and 3.9 days of supply (DOS), $7M daily consignment inventory, and 22K SKUs.

Lowered sourcing cost by 4% despite extremely inflationary economic environment through supplier sourcing/selection initiative to migrate to single source supplier.

Reduced working capital by 26%, while still maintaining a 99.7% 24-hour fill rate by implementing ABC inventory classification model.

Delivered 60% reduction in warehouse overtime over prior year by conducting Lean events and purchasing capital equipment with less than one-year ROI.

Reduced monthly obsolescence by $80K+ each month by building and leading SOP teams to lower lead times and inventory with S&P 100 companies.

Cut inventory shrink from 8.7% to 3.3%, saving $2.4M, by developing processes to control product ship/shelf life.

Reduced WIP by $85M+ and DOS inventory by $7M+ by implementing integrated supplier management (ISM) process with 172 Tier 1 suppliers three years ahead of schedule. ISM process included consignment inventory, supplier managed inventory, pay on consumption inventory, advance shipping notices, and electronic communications (EDI).

Delivered $1.3M in inventory and manpower savings as Lean Champion sponsor developing new picking procedures for raw parts delivery to assembly lines. Recognized with Gold Award for Lean Championship Team.
