Architecture and Solution Design:

Presently working in the eCommerce group as a Infrastructure Architect/AIX specialist, designing and implementing solutions that fulfill eCommerce requirements for Storage using v7000 and PureFlex with the objective of migrating to the Cloud infrastructure. Implementing IILM with v7000 storage using SVC for automating the storage peak performance to move/migrate LUN’s. Establish capital expense planning procedures for hardware/software licenses for the eCom infrastructure. Working closely with IBM team to design and architect solutions as required via RFS and PCR’s for new requirements. Successfully upgrade all eCom AIX Servers to AIX 7.1 and now working on the Linux upgrade project rebuilding all Linux environment from 5.9 to 6.6. Designed a solution to migrate all AIX DB/2 & Cassandra databases to Linux 6.6.

System Specialist:

Worked in the infrastructure delivery group at Macy's, delivering the servers, designing, supporting, installing, configuring the AIX systems and implementing AIX 6.1 TL8 and AIX v7.1_TL2 on p7-750’s and IBM PureFlex system’s p-460’s. Recently implemented successfully IBM PureFlex with 4-p460’s and migrated many production environments to PureFlex. Successfully implemented IBM SmartCloud Entry for automating and optimizing workloads. Migrated 700 windows servers running Lotus Notes Domino onto 6 AIX servers in Georgia and Ohio datacenters respectively. Successfully implemented IBM Sametime environment globally for Macy’s organization using AIX p7-750’s by setting up dual VIO’s and lpar’s for 180000 users. Implemented WMS(Warehouse Management Systems) and PACE (Planning About Customer Experience) project in production environment. Implemented new NIM (Network Installation Manager) Servers with AIX 7100-02-02 and created scripts for backups and O/S images creation and collection for over 1500 servers at 2 locations. Install and configure the Tivoli Workload Scheduler environment at John’s Creek datacenter using virtualization to maximize the benefits. Striped the SAN storage on the servers to get the benefit and I/O bandwith on disks. Implement standards to be used for creating virtual VIO Servers and lpar’s and fine tuning the disk attributes and queue_depths for performance of the systems. Analyzed NMON reports, identify performance related risks and provide update to upper management on a weekly basis.

Unix/AIX Consultant: At SunTrust Bank Atlanta:

Worked as an AIX Consultant supporting the SunTrust Bank account in Atlanta and Orlando. Implemented p-5 pSeries 570’s in Orlando with Micro partitioning and creating 29 partitions on a 8 way p-570 using the IBM procedures to the limit and successfully implemented the technology, providing the customer with the best results. Implemented NIM 5.3 server to migrate many systems in Orlando. Implemented Eight p-570’s in the Micro-partition environment setting up two Virtual I/O Servers on each system, LPAR’s, PLM, Ether-Channel, Shared Ethernet Adapters etc. Also, support their p-655’s nodes in the cluster environment. Implementing the same in Atlanta Data Center for the Bank. Supported the DB2 and Cognos environment in AIX 5.3 running on p-575’s.

Designed and Implemented AIX/HACMP on two 550’s with AIX v5.3 and HACMP v5.3 using XIO Tech SAN and Cambex Fibrecards with Dual Path Failover for this client. Created Network Installation Manager (NIM) on a p5:520 for Disaster Recovery of their environment and to make “mksysb” and “savevg’s” images onto the p5:520 system. Automated the tasks to perform the backups regularly every week. Migrated their Enterprise GE application and its data from HP systems to AIX HACMP systems successfully. Trained the client’s Administrator on AIX and HACMP. Documented their HA cluster environment and provided them “admin” guide along with test suites for their HA environment

Worked as an AIX Tivoli Storage Manager Consultant in the successful implementation of p-5 pSeries 570’s and Tivoli Storage Manager v5.3 implementation in Fort Myers Florida. Implemented TSM with setting up 3494 Tape Library sharing with the Mainframe. Worked as a Chief Systems Engineer supporting their Build Team to implement the NIM strategy along with HA cluster upgrades. Worked on different projects on Highly Available AIX clusters, Network Installation Manager implementation for DR restores, Setting up TSM servers on AIX platform (currently on Mainframe). Worked on the Data Center move to Austin Texas in the month of December 2004 when all the production servers along with mainframe were moved. Worked on DB/2 Version 8.2 upgrades on all Prod and QA servers. Manage all the three TSM SAP Servers and 3584 Tape Library with 9 – 3580 Tape Drives. Recently upgraded one of the TSM servers from TSM 3.7 to TSM 5.1 and reconfigured all the tape cartridges. Installed and configured 4 H-50’s for Payroll project in the HACMP cluster and migrated the data to the new system with AIX 4.3.3 with ML_10 and HACMP 4.4.1.

Upgraded SAP systems to AIX 5.2, 64-bit kernel, TSM upgrade to 5.2 on servers and clients and TDP clients for Informix database restores. LPAR configurations using DLPAR on each system, NIM restores with Flash copy tasks for SAP “onbar restores”. HACMP 5.1 installation, configuration using the IP aliasing. P-series 670 Firmware upgrade to the latest level 3H031024. Worked on DryRun tests for SAP upgrades to 4.6c from 3.1H.
