Details of professional experience and expertize

As Purchase & Materials Manager:

Made strategic planning for procurement and inventory management system including analyses of TCO and applications of various tools to reduce it.

Dow Engineering & Chemicals, Houston, TX as Project Expediter:

Dow Engineering’s Sadara Petrochemicals in Saudi Arabia was 20 billion dollar worth Petrochemicals Projects.

Successful expedited timely supplies of all Capital Goods as per various POS from the suppliers from various countries. Completed and close out all POS entrusted to me in all respects and in timely manners. Looked after supplies of mainly Capital Goods, Engineered and Fabricated items, High capacity bagging Machines, High Capacity compressors, Instrumentation, Valves, Pumps, Vassals, Columns, Electric Panels, and Motors etc. Achievements: Out of 40 purchase orders entrusted to me, for supplies of some major capital goods, fabricated items, high capacity pumps, generators etc., 80% were completed with supplies of materials, all documents and other deliverables were received. Final payment released to supplier and relative PO files were closed.

Upon completion of Sadara, transferred to 8 billion worth of Gulfstream Petrochemical Project. Picked up the project midway through procurement of technically complex items. Was involved in Expediting of various Systems, High Capacity Screw Pumps, Heat Exchangers, Vassals, cooling tower pumps and Compressors etc.

Main was Identifying critical path of orders, sub suppliers cascade and anticipate delays during engineering, procurement of fabrication step by step, inspection, documentation, FAT etc., Effectively liaising between inspection, supplier’s technical team, engineering team and Site Technical Authority

Arranging KOM, PIM and review meeting with Engineering Project Management Team, Inspection and supplier to short out issues related to material specifications and supplies.

Monitoring timely submission of documents, certificates, ITP and manufacturing schedule, arranging for third party inspections as per PO terms.

Coordination between supplier, logistics and transportation contractors

Payment: Timely releasing of payment, as per PO terms and mile stone agreed by the suppliers.

PO Close out processing after completion of PO, receipts of all deliverables, documentations, final receipts and approval reports and payment to the supplier as per PO terms

Indian Petrochemical Complex: 3 billion dollar worth of Naphtha Cracker, Olefins, Polymers, VC/PVC, Polybutadienes and other downstream projects, worked as buyer of Capital Goods, packaging systems, dissection columns, trays, catalysts, chemicals, machineries and spare parts, vehicles, tankers, high capacity cranes, Control Panels, Range of field instruments, Control Valves and Actuators,

Maharashtra Gas Cracker Projects: 5 billion worth of Gas Cracker project was based on gas available from Bombay High. Initially involved in more than 100 km long pipe line project then transferred to Capital Goods procurement for various down streams.

Join IPCL Dahej Gas Cracker Project was 3rd Petrochemical Complex as Procurement and Materials Manager.

Planned and executed strategic sourcing plans for Capital Machinery and Feed Stock Procurements following the agreed processes, developed vendor performance and evaluation system and contracting strategies for all major commodities required by manufacturing and processing units. Preparations of procurement proposals for management approvals and processing of purchase contact as per delegation of power, management policies and procedures.

Also made contacts for feed stock supplies with refineries and other chemical manufacturer for various plants and managed logistics and supply chain for continuation of round the clock productions.
