Midwest Academic and Cloud Computing Consortium (www.marc3.info) The Midwest Academic & Resilience Cloud Computing Consortium (MARC3) is a group of colleges, universities and industry partners investigating the use of cloud computing infrastructure to support teaching and learning, cloud computing education and training, academic research, and entry-level resilience and recovery solutions for small to mid size businesses. The goal of our members is to make MARC3 a regional hub of academic and industry expertise in cloud computing and to set a standard nationally for cloud-based resilience and recovery for small to midsized businesses. Founded in 11/01 with a mission of Corporate Community Support in the event of a Terrorist attack. 1) In line with Homelnd Security Advisory Council interest developed the framework for the Countries 1st National Resilience Center. A Prime mover in creation of the Countries 1st Information Sharing Hub providing a “Resilience” Information Sharing Network cross country (executive Summary available on request). http://www.dhs.gov/xinfoshare/committees/editorial_0331.shtm that evolved into the creation of the HSAC Resilience Subcommittee. 2) In conjunction with Department of Homeland Security Homeland Security Advisory Council, developed a working prototype for utilizing the state Fusion Centers as the conduit for sharing critical infrastructure vulnerability information with regional corporations and their supply chains. 1990-2001 Chicago Research and Planning Group (www.crpg.org) CRPG was informal networking of Chief Information Officers across the country. The association grew into the largest CIO association in the country and over the years was recognized by CEO’s of many Technology Vendor companies as a Marketplace of Technology visionaries. The member’s aggregate technology purchasing power in any year grew to 80 Billion dollars. The CRPG was the country’s largest Chief Information Officer Association.
