Rotated through multiple AppleCare clinics including the Jesup, Savannah, Pooler, Camden and Brunswick locations. Worked with a variety of providers at each location.
Treated a wide variety of diagnosis including acute illnesses, orthopedic injuries, workers compensation visits and occupational health visits.
Gained more experience in interpreting radiology reports, pharmacology management, promoting health education, and efficient patient communication skills.
Expanded familiarity with EMR, electronic prescribing, billing and coding and insurance processing.
Pinelands Behavioral Health System Statesboro, Georgia Behavioral Health Rotation Sept 28, 2015 – Oct 30, 2016
Preceptor: Joel Bray, MD
Treated patients in rural areas of Georgia with a variety of mental illnesses and developmental disabilities.
Patient care involved both outpatient and inpatient settings. In addition, medical visits included time spent at residential areas and psychosocial rehabilitation centers.
Worked with a wide variety of providers and healthcare team members including psychiatrics, counselors, nurses and addiction specialists.

Curtis V. Cooper Primary Health Care Savannah, Georgia Pediatrics Rotation Aug 3, 2015 – Sept 4, 2015
Preceptor: Yael Elfassy, MD
Treated children from families with limited financial resources or from high risk populations within the downtown areas of Savannah
Time was spent in the outpatient setting. Visits included well child checks, sports physicals, immunizations for school and sick visits.
Educated patients and their families on diet, exercise and safety.
Competencies included injections, removal of cerumen impaction and removal of foreign bodies from ears and nose.

Volunteers in Medicine – Hilton Head Hilton Head, South Carolina Women’s Health Rotation June 29, 2015 – July 31, 2015

Treated mostly Hispanic working class patients of the Hilton Head Island community at the free health clinic.
Time was spent mostly in the GYN field treating women ages 13 to 90. Visits included annual exams and sick visits. Diagnoses included leiomyoma’s, STIs, breast masses and abnormal uterine bleeding.
Educated patient’s on self-breast awareness, hormonal changes and family planning.
Competencies included pelvic exams, breast exams, pap smears, interpreting pap results, KOH prep.

Surgery Rotation May 11, 2015 – June 12, 2015
Preceptor: Dewayne Roy Edwards, MD
Treated active duty and retired military personnel and their dependents ranging in ages from 5 to 80.
Time was split between the general surgery clinic and the operating room. Diagnoses included cholelithiasis, chronic reflux, appendicitis, colon cancer screenings, and breast cancer.
Operating room experience was most often first assist.
Competencies included starting IVs, bladder catheterization, sterile technique, intubation, suturing, stapling, camera operation and breast exams.
AppleCare Savannah/Memorial Health Urgent Care Savannah/Pooler, Georgia Primary Care Rotation April 6, 2015 – May 8, 2015
Preceptor: Teyonka Wilson, PA-C
Treated a diverse case load of patients ranging in ages from 6 months to 100 years old.
Diagnoses varied greatly including acute infections, minor orthopedic injuries, sports physicals and occupational health visits. In addition, I performed well checks and educated patients on both diabetes and hypertension control.
Competencies achieved included wound care, eye and ear care, suturing, injections, interpretation of lab and radiology results and pelvic exams.
