March 2011 - HomeFinder.com
November 2015 Chicago, IL
January 2015 – November 2015 Senior Systems Analyst
On the Data Team.
Responsible for the design, development, testing and support of new user tools in both Perl and PHP, as well as, enhancement or replacement of core processes for acquisition of data from outside data providers, conversion to HomeFinder.com standards, validation of content, and delivery to the data stores that feed the production website. HomeFinder.com is a Agile Development Environment, and uses Git for software version control.
Developed and implemented enhancements to RETS processing to allow for more frequent data updates without excessive reprocessing of data and over loading the system resources. Work was done in Perl and SQL.
Using frequency of problem types reported to our help desk, designed and developed WEB based tools using PHP to allow front line Customer Service Representatives to be able to resolve issues that originally required second level support associates to resolve.
2011 – January 2015 Technical Data Analyst
On the Data Ops Team.
Primary responsibility was the “Feed System” in a UNIX environment. This is the process that brings external data into HomeFinder and makes it available for use by the company’s Website.
Provide second level support for any external or internal issues relating to Feed Data. Developed tools and utilities using Perl and SQL for both Oracle and Postgres Data Bases in a UNIX environment.
Redesigned the system that processed approximately 50% of our daily data feed so that it ran consistently in 90 minutes instead of the 5 hours plus it had previously been running, along with a similar reduction in system resources consumed.
Redesigned other processes so that they were less complex, more efficient of system resources, and ran in smaller runtime windows.
As part of the migration from Oracle to Postgres rewrote the application that defines “Feeds” to the HomeFinder system as a php web based application. Utilizing best practices for screen design enhanced the usability of the system reducing the amount of time required to bring a “Feed” on board and make the data available to the Website.

1987 – 1994 R & D Programmer
Designed and developed the CASS Certified, Address Analysis System (ADR). The system performs ZIP code correction, address standardization, ZIP plus 4 and DPC coding. The programs edit U.S. Postal Service directories into a condensed format for every deliverable address in the United States.
